Voting for all 70 seats on February 5th and counting on 8th
The Election Commission of India announced the dates for the Delhi Assembly Election on 07 January 2025. As per the schedule, the voting for all 70 assembly seats in Delhi will be held in a single phase on 05 February. The election results will be declared after the counting of votes on 08 February. The announcement of poll dates means the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in the national capital.
As per the schedule, the notification for Delhi polls will be issued on 10 January. The last date for filing nominations is January 17 while the scrutiny of candidates will be done on 18 January. The last date of withdrawal of nomination is 20 January. The date of polling is 5 February and the date of counting is 8 February, according to the poll panel.
Noteworthy, Delhi has 1,55,24,858 voters. This includes 83,49,645 men and 71,73,952 women, and 1,261 third-gender voters. There are 24,44,320 senior citizen voters in Delhi, with 2,77221 people above the age of 80.
