A grand Deepotsav was held at the Bharatiya Janata Party central office in New Delhi on 24 December 2025, to mark the eve of the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister ‘Bharat Ratna’, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The celebration also signified the culmination of Vajpayee Ji’s birth centenary year.
The event was attended by several senior party leaders, including BJP National President and Union Minister Shri JP Nadda, former Vice-President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, and others.
All the leaders led by Shri JP Nadda lit 101 lamps in front of a flower-decorated portrait of Vajpayee Ji, representing his 101st birth anniversary.
In addition to the BJP central headquarters, similar Deepotsav events and illuminations were organized across all 14 district offices in the national capital and all over the country.
Leaders offered floral tributes and reflected on Vajpayee Ji’s legacy of public service, stating that his vision for a “Viksit Bharat” continues to inspire current national leadership.
Noteworthy, the birth anniversary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee (December 25) is officially observed every year across India as National Good Governance Day.
