     As India marches ahead on the path of realising the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat,’ Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is taking India’s message of peace, development, and mutual cooperation across the world. The recently concluded eight-day visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to five nations, viz., Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia, and participation in 17th BRICS Summit brought these nations closer to India as valued partners in the journey ahead. While the visit focused on expanding trade, defence, digital and critical mineral cooperation, promoting UPI as a global digital public good and deepening cultural and diaspora ties, it also led to enhancing mutual trust and making each other partners in development.

His address to the Ghanaian Parliament underscored India’s commitment to South-South cooperation and inclusive development. On 4th July, 2025, while visiting Trinidad & Tobago, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced the donation of 2,000 laptops for youth empowerment and expanded OCI eligibility for Persons of Indian Origin. It marked the first visit by any Indian prime minister in 26 years. Celebrating 180 years of Indo-Caribbean heritage, he addressed Parliament and engaged with the vibrant Indian diaspora.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Argentina created a new environment of mutual trust and goodwill. The discussions focused on critical minerals, particularly lithium, as well as energy, pharmaceuticals, defence, and space collaboration. The Argentine government honoured the prime minister with the Key to the City of Buenos Aires, acknowledging India’s growing role as a strategic partner. This visit to Argentina marked the first prime minister’s visit in 57 years. In Brazil, while addressing the summit, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi championed global governance reforms, food and energy security, and responsible AI, and led a condemnation of the 22nd April Pahalgam terror attack, labelled “criminal and unjustifiable,” urging zero tolerance and collective action against terrorism. He was also conferred ‘the Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross,’ Brazil’s highest civilian honour, affirming India’s rising global stature.

The visit to Namibia on 9th July, 2025, was marked by a historic achievement as Namibia became the first country to license India’s UPI, a significant milestone in digital diplomacy. This visit focused on defence cooperation, maritime security, critical minerals, energy, agriculture, healthcare, and education. Namibia’s Parliament was addressed for the first time by an Indian Prime Minister. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received Namibia’s highest honour, ‘the Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis,’ reflecting exceptional diplomatic trust. The 17th BRICS Summit also echoed India’s stragegic concerns vis-a-vis terrorism and reforms in global governing bodies including strongest condemnation of Pahalgam terror attack.
