“Mann Ki Baat”

The Prime Minister on 30th November addressed the nation in the 128th episode of Mann Ki Baat, a flagship radio broadcast that connects with citizens across India. In this episode, he reflected on recent national achievements, cultural milestones, and grassroots initiatives. His narrative weaved together themes of innovation, tradition, collective endeavour, national pride, and socio-economic progress

The Prime Minister began by acknowledging significant national events and celebrations in November. He highlighted the special programme organized on Constitution Day (26 November 2025), noting how various activities across the country reinforced democratic values. Importantly, the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ was commemorated with nationwide programmes, marking it as a milestone in India’s cultural heritage. He also mentioned the hoisting of the Dharmadhwaja at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the inauguration of the Panchajanya Memorial at Jyotisar in Kurukshetra — symbols of national identity and pride.

Economic and Technological Achievements

The Prime Minister spoke about the inauguration of the world’s largest LEAP engine MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility in Hyderabad, emphasizing India’s growing role in the global aviation maintenance ecosystem. He noted the induction of INS Mahe into the Indian Navy, reinforcing India’s advancing maritime capabilities and self-reliance in defense manufacturing. The warship’s indigenous design reflects the nation’s capability to strengthen its security apparatus.
The recent contributions of private space sector players- particularly the Skyroot Infinity Campus-were recognized as a boost to India’s space ecosystem, echoing a new spirit of innovation led by youth energy.

Youth, Science, and Resilience

A poignant segment of the address focused on youth involvement in innovation. The Prime Minister described a unique drone competition organized by ISRO, where young innovators tackled the challenge of flying drones under simulated Martian conditions without GPS support. The experiment demonstrated both creativity and resilience — qualities mirrored in India’s scientific community.

He drew a parallel between this exercise and the story of Chandrayaan-3’s success following the setback of Chandrayaan-2. This narrative was presented as an embodiment of India’s ability to rise from failures with renewed confidence and vigor.

Agriculture and Food Grain Production

The Prime Minister underscored a remarkable milestone in India’s agricultural sector. With food grain production reaching 357 million tonnes, India has achieved a historic high, with a growth of 100 million tonnes over the past decade. This achievement underscores the success of the country’s agricultural strategy and the collective efforts of farmers, scientists, and policymakers.

PM said, “India has set a historic record with food grain production of 357 million tonnes. Three hundred and fifty-seven million tonnes! Compared to 10 years ago, India’s food grain production has increased by a 100 million tonnes. “

The Prime Minister also stressed that India’s honey production has more than doubled over the last decade, and exports have increased more than three-fold. Initiatives such as the Honey Mission and distribution of over 2.25 lakh bee-boxes by Khadi Gramodyog have empowered many rural households.

Cultural Heritage and Festivals

The address celebrated India’s cultural diversity and global spiritual outreach. The Prime Minister shared his impressions from the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, where participants from Europe and Central Asia gathered to honor the Bhagavad Gita. He highlighted the global participation in the festival, including the first public presentation of the Gita in Saudi Arabia and the enthusiastic reception in Latvia. These events were presented as examples of India’s cultural resonance across the world.

Promoting Local Craftsmanship

Reiterating the importance of the ‘Vocal for Local’ movement, the Prime Minister urged citizens to support Indian products. He invoked the tradition of giving local crafts as gifts during the G-20 Summit, showcasing Indian artistry to world leaders. The emphasis on local consumption aligns with the spirit of self-reliance and national pride.

India’s remarkable performance in sports

He also spoke about the growing culture of endurance sports and fitness events such as marathons and triathlons, illustrating how sports inspire young Indians to push their limits and embrace healthier lives.

The 128th episode of Mann Ki Baat encapsulated a panoramic view of India’s progress — celebrating achievements in agriculture, science, culture, sports, and grassroots empowerment. The Prime Minister’s message combined national pride with a call to collective action, urging citizens to uphold values of resilience, innovation, and local enterprise. This address reiterated India’s commitment to progress rooted in democratic values, cultural heritage, and people’s participation.
