BJP National President visits disaster-affected areas in Himachal
BJP National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda visited various disaster-affected areas of Himachal Pradesh and inspected the situation caused by cloudbursts and heavy rainfall on 09-July 2025. Shri Nadda visited Saij Pangliyur Baga village in Nachan Assembly Constituency of Mandi district, where he interacted with affected families. He also took stock of the damage in Thunag and spoke to the local people, while expressing concern over the losses incurred in Karsog and Dharampur. During the visit, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Shri Jairam Thakur and BJP State President Shri Rajeev Bindal were also present.
Shri Nadda first arrived in Sundernagar, Mandi district, where he reviewed the relief and rescue operations with the local administration. He directed officials to ensure that there is no laxity in relief efforts and that government assistance reaches every affected person promptly. He stated that the Central Government is working in full coordination with the State Government and that all necessary resources are being provided in a timely manner. Thereafter, he visited the village of Saij Pangliyur Baga in Nachan Assembly Constituency of Mandi district, where he met families affected by the disaster. During this visit, he also met Pushp Raj and Tilak Raj, who lost their parents in the tragedy.
BJP National President consoled the affected families and assured them that the Central Government would leave no stone unturned in their rehabilitation. Following this, Shri Nadda visited Thunag village in Mandi district, where heavy rainfall and cloudbursts have severely disrupted normal life. He met with local residents, listened to their concerns, and reviewed the status of relief material distribution. He stated that the administration is working on a war footing to safely evacuate stranded people, provide temporary shelter, and ensure the availability of food and medicines. He also reviewed the healthcare facilities at relief camps and issued necessary instructions to the officials.
BJP National President said that roads and connectivity routes damaged during the relief operations will be restored promptly to resume normal traffic. He emphasized that Himachal Pradesh is prone to natural disasters, and during such challenging times, it is essential for the government and society to come together in solidarity. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government is committed to ensuring that every affected person receives timely assistance. All necessary measures are being taken to restore normal life at the earliest.
