PM Modi Story                 (Narrated by: Gokul Kunnath,RI-Atlanta, USA)

Prime Minster Shri Narendra Modi has always been a strong believer in the power of technology.

Even in the 1990s, he knew technology could make life easier and more organised. He admired it for personal use and how it could help improve the efficiency of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

When Shri Modi visited the US in 1997, his fascination with technology was seen by his hosts. Shri Narendra Modi stayed at the home of Shri Gokul Kunnath; an NRI businessman based in Atlanta. Shri Kunnath recalls asking Shri Modi if there was anything he wanted from the US.

Shri Modi’s response was simple yet revealing: he asked for a microcomputer.

This device could store 3,000-4,000 names, phone numbers, and addresses. Even then, Shri Narendra Modi was focused on how technology could help him organise and advance his work within the BJP.
