BJP National President’s scathing attack on Congress
BJP National President & Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda in a press conference launched a scathing attack on Congress on 28 December 2024. He said it is highly unfortunate that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and current Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge Ji are not refraining from politicising the tragic demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singhi. Such a disgraceful mindset of the Congress deserves the strongest condemnation.
Shri JP Nadda said the Congress party, which failed to give genuine respect to Dr. Manmohan Singh during his tenure, is now using his name for political gains. This is the same Congress that tarnished the dignity of the Prime Minister’s position by placing Sonia Gandhi as a “Super PM” above Dr. Singh, undermining his authority. Not only that, but the humiliation inflicted on Dr Manmohan Singh when Rahul Gandhi publicly tore up the ordinance remains unparalleled. And today, the same Rahul Gandhi is politicizing the tragic demise of the former Prime Minister!
Gandhi family has consistently failed to respect
The Gandhi family has consistently failed to respect or do justice to any prominent leader outside their own lineage, be it from within the Congress party or the opposition. Whether it was Babasaheb Ambedkar, the nation’s first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Sardar Patel, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao, Dr Pranab Mukherjee, Shri Sitaram Kesri, or the revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee—Congress and the Gandhi family have repeatedly insulted them. Even after the passing of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Congress leaders and their supporters continued to dishonour his legacy, with several glaring examples of such behaviour.
Congress continues to spread false narratives
The government, under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, allocated land for the memorial of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and duly informed his family. Despite this, Congress continues to spread false narratives. It is important to recall Congress’s history in such matters. On 23 December 2004, after the demise of former Prime Minister Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao, a request was made to establish a memorial in Delhi. However, the Congress Party denied approval for the same. The Congress did not even allow Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao’s mortal remains are to be placed at the Congress headquarters. They did not want his last rites to be conducted in Delhi, which is why the cremation ultimately took place in Hyderabad. It was Shri Narendra Modi who in 2015 ensured the construction of a Samadhi for Narasimha Rao in Delhi and honoured him by awarding the Bharat Ratna in 2024, truly recognizing and restoring his legacy.
When former President and Bharat Ratna Dr Pranab Mukherjee passed away in 2020, the Congress Working Committee did not even bother to convene a condolence meeting. Whether Congress remembers or not, let me remind them that in 2013, the UPA government led by Congress had decided to establish a “Rashtriya Smriti” and had resolved that no separate memorial would be built for any individual national personality.
PM Modi established the PM Museum
It is Shri Narendra Modi who ensured that the contributions of all Hon’ble Prime Ministers are remembered and made known to the people of India by establishing the PM Museum. In contrast, Congress built memorials and Samadhis exclusively for members of its own family.
The Nation will neither forget nor forgive the historical misdeeds of a Congress devoid of principles. Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and other Congress leaders should refrain from indulging in such petty politics.
