In a massive show of strength today, Sunday, Hon’ble BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin addressed sea of supporters at mega rallies in Margherita and Jonai in Assam. With the crowd’s energy at a fever pitch, he issued a stirring call to the people of Assam to secure a crushing, landslide victory for the BJP’s transformative “Double-Engine” government for a historic third consecutive term. Shri Nabin stated that on this sacred land of Kamakhya Temple, he is confident that this time too, BJP will form the government in Assam and a hat-trick victory is certain by the blessing of the people of Assam. This is the same land where the rich traditions of the Mising community are alive, where the sounds of folk culture and music resonate. This region is enriched with historical and cultural heritage, where faith, tradition, and legacy come together in a remarkable way. Bowing to this sacred land, he said he has come here to raise the voice of the people of Assam and strengthen their trust.
Shri Nabin mentioned that the people of Assam had also witnessed the condition of governance ten years ago, when the state’s identity across the country was associated with violence, unrest, and movements. Today, the situation has completely changed, and Assam is now known for its development, rich heritage, and cultural identity. The state is moving rapidly on the path of development, and this progress, carried out with a sense of self-respect, is being discussed across the country. Assam has strongly preserved its cultural heritage, which is a matter of pride for the entire nation, and the Northeast has emerged as a powerful symbol of India’s culture, courage, and self-respect. He feels proud to visit this sacred land and has been visiting Assam continuously since 2009–10, drawing new energy every time. During his recent visit to Assam as party president, the massive public gatherings in various programmes made it clear that even before the announcement of elections, the people had already decided to bring the BJP government back to power. This growing trust of the people is not without reason but is due to the BJP government delivering schemes that have brought light, prosperity, and food security to every household, along with providing facilities like Ayushman Bharat, thereby strengthening confidence in people’s lives.
Shri Nitin Nabin noted that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam has witnessed wide-ranging transformation. There was a time when the youth of Assam had to migrate for education and employment, but today opportunities within the state have expanded rapidly. In the span of 60–65 years, only about 10 medical colleges had been established, whereas now more than a dozen medical colleges have been built and nearly 10 more are under construction, reflecting the fast-paced development of Assam. The growing trust among the people is due to the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, under whom India’s global stature has risen, a new story of development is being written, and the respect for the national flag has increased across the world. Today, 140 crore citizens of the country stand firmly with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
BJP National President asserted that when there was an attack by a neighbouring country, the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru merely fulfilled his responsibility by saying that his heart was with the people of Assam, but he did not truly stand with them. Today the situation has completely changed, and the country now has a leadership that stands firmly with the people in every crisis. During the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, while showing concern for the poor, provided free vaccines to the citizens and led the country out of that crisis. Today, India’s policy is clear and firm, where every challenge is responded to with strength. Earlier governments would remain silent while sitting in Delhi, even when soldiers were beheaded, and no action was taken. In contrast, the present government responds strongly to every challenge and gives the highest priority to national security. Through Operation Sindoor, the government led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has worked to protect the dignity of the nation’s mothers and sisters, and those who disrespected them have been dealt with firmly by this government.
Shri Nitin Nabin mentioned that some people describe the politics of the Bharatiya Janata Party as appeasement, but this is completely incorrect. BJP government is accountable to 140 crore citizens of the country and works with that very spirit. The first right over the nation’s food belongs to its people, the benefits of government schemes should first reach the citizens of the country, and employment opportunities should primarily belong to the youth of India. Ensuring the safety of the nation’s mothers and sisters is the primary responsibility of the government, and there will be no compromise with infiltrators on this issue, no matter what the cost. If ensuring the rights of citizens is termed as appeasement, then such an allegation is acceptable, but under no circumstances will the rights of the people of India be compromised. The BJP takes tough decisions, but these decisions are necessary for national security, the safety of women, and the eradication of corruption. This is why BJP governments work with full commitment for the people and continue to receive their blessings, which is reflected in the party being in power in many states across the country. The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has received the blessings of the people for a third consecutive term and has resolved to make the mothers and sisters of the country “Lakhpati Didis,” under which efforts are being made to make 3 crore women self-reliant across India. In the same direction, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, several schemes are being implemented to empower women, help them move forward on the path of development, and make them self-reliant, including the provision of financial assistance in installments.
Shri Nabin told that over the past 12 years, the country has moved forward rapidly on the path of development, and through schemes like Ayushman Bharat, crores of people have benefited from improved healthcare facilities. Earlier, people had to face serious difficulties in accessing medical services. People from the Northeast had to travel to places like Bihar, Patna, and Delhi for treatment. However, today, through the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the establishment of large hospitals and medical colleges, people in Assam no longer need to go outside the state for treatment. This transformation has been made possible due to BJP government and the double-engine government formed with the blessings of the people. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, continuous efforts are being made to honor Assam’s cultural heritage. Large-scale events are being organized in the state, and several of these programmes have even found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
BJP National President stated that a major programme recently held in Assam has found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, which is a matter of pride for the entire state and reflects the efforts being made to preserve its rich cultural heritage. Charaideo Maidams, often referred to as the “pyramids of Assam,” being included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites is a moment of pride for every resident of Assam. Under the Orunodoi scheme, financial assistance of ₹1,250 is being provided to around 40 lakh beneficiaries, which reflects that development schemes are reaching every individual and efforts are being made to make them self-reliant. The establishment of a semiconductor industry in Assam, the introduction of Vande Bharat Express, improved connectivity from Guwahati to Jalpaiguri, and facilities like the Vande Bharat sleeper train between Kolkata and Guwahati demonstrate that the BJP government is consistently working to put the state on a fast track of development.
Shri Nitin Nabin mentioned that on January 30, 2026, the Union Home Minister announced a special recruitment drive in the Central Armed Police Forces for Mising youth, which is expected to greatly benefit local youngsters. The Assam government has declared a gazetted holiday on the occasion of the major festival ‘Ali-Aye-Ligang’ of the BC community, as a mark of respect for the community. Work is progressing rapidly on several important projects, including a medical college and hospital in Khemaji, and the approval of a new development block in the Jonai Assembly constituency is also an important step towards development. Today the citizens of Assam are receiving respect, and women are stepping out of their homes to become self-reliant, which reflects the state’s growing development. There was a time when Assam faced unrest and tension under Congress rule, but today, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, an environment of trust, peace, and development has been established. Earlier there was a government with neither clear policy nor clear intent, and whose leadership was confusing, where even a large section of the population was portrayed as a challenge. In contrast Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji considers 140 crore citizens as his strength and energy, and takes major decisions based on their trust, which is why he continues to receive the people’s blessings consistently.
Shri Nitin Nabin mentioned that Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma has worked with full commitment towards development and has continuously made efforts to bring Assam among the leading states of the country, for which he deserves the support of the people. Over the past 10 years, the double-engine government has consistently worked to bring prosperity into the lives of common people. The goal is to build a strong, developed, and secure Assam, and this can only be achieved if the people continue to extend their blessings. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has envisioned a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047, and in the same direction, a resolve has been taken to make Assam a developed and leading state, for which the BJP seeks the blessings of the people of Assam. Invoking Maa Shakti and drawing inspiration from the energy of the Brahmaputra, Assam will neither bow nor stop, but will continue to move forward, crossing every milestone of development. Full support of the people is essential for the development of Assam, and through this support, strength will also be given to the region’s representatives. He called upon everyone to move forward with a spirit of patriotism and public support and to accelerate this journey of development. BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin appealed to the people of Assam to once again form the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state.
