The Production Linked Incentive–Auto (PLI-Auto) Scheme has reached significant milestones, driving investment, production and job creation in the electric automotive sector. Launched to boost manufacturing capabilities in Advanced Automotive Technology (AAT) products, the scheme operates from FY 2023–24 to FY 2027–28 with a total outlay of Rs. 25,938 crore. In its first performance year, Rs. 322 crore was disbursed to four approved participants, and for FY 2024–25, Rs. 1,999.94 crore has been released to five entities so far.
The scheme has attracted Rs. 35,657 crore in cumulative investment and generated 48,974 jobs as of September 30, 2025. Total determined sales amount to Rs. 32,879 crore, and Rs. 2,321.94 crore in incentives have been disbursed by December 31, 2025. These results reflect progress toward government objectives of AtmaNirbhar Bharat and accelerated growth in electrified vehicle manufacturing
