Kerala BJP newly elected local body representatives’ visit TO Delhi
The newly elected BJP Panchayat members, municipal councillors, and corporation representatives from across Kerala undertook a three-day visit to New Delhi from 11–13 February 2026 to meet the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and senior party leadership, focusing on strengthening organisational outreach and development initiatives for the state.
The delegation arrived at the New Delhi Railway Station on 11 February, where they were welcomed by Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva and Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Shri Raja Iqbal Singh. On the first day, the representatives interacted with BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin at the party’s central office and participated in organisational programmes. During their stay, they also visited the war memorial at India Gate.
On 12 February, Union Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar conducted a special session on urban development at the BJP national headquarters. The delegation also visited the Parliament House as part of their institutional exposure programme.
The highlight of the visit came on 13 February, when the Kerala delegation met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg. BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin and BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) Shri B. L. Santosh were also present during the meeting. The newly elected representatives greeted the Prime Minister and presented him with traditional shawls.
During the interaction, the Prime Minister praised party workers and elected representatives for their dedication and assured continued support to strengthen the party’s presence in Kerala. He guided them on organisational priorities and future challenges, urging them to deepen grassroots engagement, promote transparent governance, and work towards improving the “Ease of Living” for citizens. He also acknowledged the tireless contribution of BJP Karyakartas and expressed confidence in the party’s continued growth in the state.
Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation Mayor VV Rajesh stated that the electoral success in Kerala reflected decades of ideological commitment and expressed confidence that the local-body victories would positively influence upcoming Assembly elections. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva remarked that the election of a BJP mayor in Kerala for the first time indicated the changing aspirations of the people of the state.
On the third day of the visit, BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) Shri B. L. Santosh and Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta addressed the Kerala delegation at the BJP headquarters. The delegation concluded their visit with a tour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
