BJP National President inaugurates AN exhibition and participates in a silent march on the occasion of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day
BJP National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, on 14 August 2025, participated in the ‘Silent March’ organized at Central Park, Connaught Place, New Delhi, on the occasion of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, and inaugurated the exhibition based on the Partition tragedy. The exhibition depicts the tragedy of Partition, the sacrifices of the martyrs, and the suffering of millions of displaced people through vivid photographs, documents, and historical facts.

The event was attended by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Shri V. K. Saxena, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, BJP National General Secretary Shri Tarun Chugh, Delhi Assembly Speaker Shri Vijender Gupta, and other senior leaders. Thousands of party workers also participated in the program alongside the senior leadership.
The program began with a two-minute silence in memory of the martyrs and the millions who endured the pain of Partition. The Silent March started from Central Park and concluded at Connaught Place, passing through main roads.
While viewing the exhibition, BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda said that the tragedy of Partition is a profound pain and a lesson in the history of our nation. It is not only to be remembered, but future generations must also be made aware of its causes, consequences, and the importance of national unity.
He said during Partition, millions of families lost their loved ones and left their homes, yet they rebuilt their lives with courage, patience, and patriotism. Today, we must all carry forward that very spirit.
The Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said in response to the call of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the purpose of observing 14th August as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is to ensure that, while remembering this pain, we prevent such a divisive atmosphere from ever arising again and strengthen the resolve of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Great India).
