Derogatory words against PM’s late Mother is utterly shameful
Shri Shah lashed out at the Congress for hurling abuses at PM Shri Narendra Modi’s late mother. He said along with India, the honour and respect for our Prime Minister has also increased across the world. As many as 27 countries have conferred their highest civilian awards on Shri Modi, which is a matter of great pride for India. He is a Prime Minister who is respected across the globe, yet in Indian politics, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has initiated a politics of slander and contempt. A disgraceful display of this negative politics could be seen during his “Ghuspethiya Bachao Yatra” in Bihar. From the very stage where Rahul Gandhi was being welcomed, Congress leaders used derogatory words for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s late mother — an act that is utterly shameful.
Strongly condemn the hatred that Rahul Gandhi initiated
From this platform today, I strongly condemn both the politics of hatred that Rahul Gandhi has initiated, and the abusive words used for the late mother of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. I also want to tell the people of the nation that the kind of issue-less, negative and hateful politics that Shri Rahul Gandhi has started will not elevate our public life — it will only drag it down.
This did not begin today. Ever since Shri Modi ji became Chief Minister, Sonia ji, Rahul ji, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Digvijay Singh, Jairam Ramesh, Renuka Chowdhury — every Congress leader — has hurled abuses at him. Some called him a “merchant of death,” some a “poisonous snake,” some a “lowly man,” some compared him to “Ravana,” others to “Bhasmasura,” or even a “virus.”
Do Congress leaders believe that by using such language they will win the people’s mandate? Today, I want to tell the Congress leaders—the more abuses you hurl at Modi ji, the bigger and brighter the lotus will bloom, reaching up to the skies.
A new era of development ushered in Northeast
The new era of development ushered in by Prime Minister Shri Modi in the Northeast has been carried to every village and every person in Assam by Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma. This is why the BJP has repeatedly secured victories. Out of 397 district council seats, we won 301. Out of 2,188 seats in the tehsil panchayats, the NDA won 1,445. Nearly 15,000 representatives have been elected at the panchayat level. This election is significant because it was the first after the delimitation in Assam, and for the first time since 1980, the state saw more than 74% voter turnout.
PM Shri Narendra Modi has led the entire Northeast forward. Our Sattriya dance has been given the status of a classical dance at the national level. Great figures like Lachit Borphukan and Srimanta Shankardev have been given national recognition. In 2022, the birth anniversary of Lachit Borphukan was celebrated at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi, carrying his message across the nation. His 125-foot statue has been installed.
He said, “Brothers and sisters, let us all take a pledge today—that in the coming days, we will once again form a BJP–AGP–NDA government in Assam.”
