‘A Leadership Journey Defined by Seva, Vision, and Nation First’

| Published on:

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has achieved a historic milestone by completing 8,931 days as the head of government on 22 March 2026. This extraordinary journey, spanning over two decades, is not merely a record of time in office but a reflection of relentless dedication, unwavering commitment, and a life devoted to public service.

From being the longest-serving Chief Minister of Gujarat to securing three consecutive mandates in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014, 2019, and 2024, this milestone symbolizes continuity, stability, and transformational leadership. It is a journey shaped by the trust of the people and driven by a vision for a stronger, self-reliant India. India did not just get a Prime Minister—it found a ‘Pradhan Sevak’ in Shri Narendra Modi.

A vision and an institution

Shri Narendra Modi is not just a leader, but a visionary and an institution in himself, who has consistently worked for the nation and national interest both as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and as the Prime Minister of India. Initiatives like Earthquake Reconstruction, Narmada water management, Agricultural Development, Vibrant Gujarat, infrastructure projects, Startups, and Make in India are examples of his foresight. As the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has ensured public welfare, education, health, and security for all, women’s empowerment, welfare of the weaker sections of society, and all-around development of farmers, labourers, and youth. The Prime Minister has elevated the nation to new heights through global leadership, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and cultural promotion.

More than a Person

PM Shri Modi’s commitment and dedication to service can be seen from this example. On the day when his revered mother passed away, he was on a visit to Tamil Nadu. As soon as the news was received, Shri Modi went to Gandhinagar to pay tribute and the last rites were conducted in a very simple manner. Before any further steps could be taken, it became known that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a pre-scheduled programme and was attending a railway event, where he was flagging off a train. This was described as an extraordinary example. For a son, the loss of a mother is one of the deepest personal sorrows and not something that can be easily endured. Yet, ensuring that personal grief did not overshadow national duty, Shri Narendra Modi instructed that no one should leave their work to come, and he himself continued with his official responsibilities. The Prime Minister undertook visits to three or four countries within a span of two to three days, and upon returning, resumed work immediately without taking rest.

Putting the nation above all

The fundamental motivation Shri Narendra Modi displayed has always been patriotism, putting the nation above all, and prioritizing the country first. The Prime Minister is a true devotee of Bharat Mata, a worshipper of the nation, and a Sewak of the people. This has always been the core driving force behind his work. As an organizational Karyakarta, he made remarkable efforts to strengthen the roots of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the hearts of people across Gujarat.

The day was also recalled when the devastating earthquake struck Bhuj and Kutch. At that time, Shri Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He undertook the immensely challenging task of reconstruction in such a way that Bhuj and Kutch rose again, transformed. Governments and organizations around the world have studied this reconstruction as a case study. This effort was not merely political; it was an example of national rebuilding, public welfare, service to the poor, and politics aimed at creating a Viksit Gujarat and a Viksit Bharat. Gujarat once suffered from water scarcity, extreme droughts, and the Narmada waters flowing wastefully into the sea. People had long heard about the Sardar Sarovar Dam, but politics often delayed progress. However, due to the vision and leadership of Shri Modi, the waters of the Narmada reached the people of Gujarat and irrigated their fields. As the Chief Minister, he ensured that a solution was found so that Narmada’s water reached Gujarat while also benefiting the nation, providing both electricity and water to Madhya Pradesh and water to Gujarat.

Gujarat reached new heights

The Sabarmati River, on whose banks Bapu once ignited the spirit of India’s freedom struggle, used to remain dry, but today, the Sabarmati flows with a lively, continuous stream, and water has been carried to several rivers across Gujarat. If the dream of river linking has been realized anywhere in practice, it has been under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi. Who could have imagined that water would reach as far as Kutch and Bhuj? Villages in Gujarat that once struggled for every drop of water have now transformed into thriving, green landscapes. Agricultural development, too, has reached new heights. Gujarat was once known primarily as a trading state, but through initiatives like Krishi Mahotsav, soil health testing, crop and fertilizer planning based on essential nutrients, and the adoption of modern scientific farming techniques, the state’s agricultural growth rate remained above 8% for over a decade.

This was beyond imagination, especially at a time when the national average agricultural growth rate hovered around just 2–3%. Not only traditional crops, but even high-value crops, along with processing and manufacturing sectors, have helped transform Gujarat into a major hub of economic activity.
When Shri Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Congress led UPA government was in power at the Centre in Delhi. Back then, investors were often advised against going to Gujarat. However, industrialists and investors placed their trust in the state, believing that genuine and rewarding investments were possible there. In the field of tourism as well, Gujarat emerged as a major hub. Campaigns like “Kuch Din Toh Guzaaro Gujarat Mein,” along with events such as the Rann of Kutch festival and the Kite Festival, made the state even more attractive. This is what came to be known as the Gujarat Model, which was discussed across the country and the world.

Emerged as a symbol of hope and confidence

The years from 2004 to 2013 were marked by a dark phase when severe allegations of scams and corruption were heard everywhere. Dishonesty, corruption, and policy paralysis had come to define the nation’s image, and the public was filled with frustration and despair. In that atmosphere of hopelessness, Shri Narendra Modi emerged as a symbol of hope and confidence. In 2014, the world witnessed with surprise that the era of coalition politics had ended, and under the leadership of Shri Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the government with a clear majority. Although the NDA had support, it was not until 30 years later that a single party secured a majority. There was a strong belief among people that “Modi Hai to Mumkin Hai.” Following this, a new era of progress and development began, often referred to as the “Modi Yug.” What once seemed impossible began to appear achievable. Discussions around national highways, airports, ports, railways, metro systems, and even bullet trains gained prominence, creating infrastructure on a scale that people had not previously imagined. Initiatives such as Make in India, Stand-Up India, and Startup India fostered a new environment of investment, optimism, and confidence. Alongside this, a commitment was made to ensure the welfare of every section of society under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Welfare of the poor

The welfare of the poor is a core commitment, and numerous schemes have been launched with that objective. Whether it is food security or housing, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi not only provided houses but ensured that they were equipped with all essential facilities. Along with housing, provisions such as roads, electricity connections, tap water, Ujjwala LPG connections, and free healthcare under Ayushman Bharat have been made available. Through the PM Surya scheme, electricity access has also been ensured in homes. Around 25 crore people in India came out of the multidimensional poverty in the last 11 years of the NDA government. This represents a comprehensive package, treating the poor as “Narayan” and addressing all aspects of their welfare.

Farmers’ welfare

About farmers’ welfare, initiatives such as the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, MSP based on proper cost of production, crop insurance in case of loss, and institutional loans exceeding Rs. 25 lakh crore under the Kisan Credit Card scheme, farmers’ pension were major highlights. The country is no longer dependent solely on wheat and rice. Therefore, crop diversification, cultivation of case crops, fertilizer subsidies and initiatives like “Per Drop More Crop” have ushered in a new era in agriculture, resulting in abundant agricultural production.

Women’s welfare

Special emphasis has also been placed on girls’ education. In Gujarat, the dropout rate among girls was once very high. As Chief Minister, Shri Narendra Modi personally visited villages and assigned officials to ensure that no girl was left out of school. Facilities such as bicycles, school bags, and uniforms were provided to support education. This initiative later evolved into the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign. For women’s welfare, schemes such as housing support, the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and the livelihood mission under the “Lakhpati Didi” initiative were implemented.

The Prime Minister had set a target of creating three crore “Lakhpati Didis” by 2027, but this target was achieved ahead of schedule. It has now been decided to expand this goal to six crore “Lakhpati Didis.” Shri Narendra Modi has ushered in a new chapter in the economic, social, educational, and political empowerment of women. Under the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, 33 percent reservation has now been ensured in state assemblies and the Lok Sabha. The youth of the country are filled with enthusiasm, with new startups emerging continuously, and more than 10 lakh appointment letters already distributed in government jobs.

Nation and national security are paramount

A strong response has also been given to terrorism. Whether it was the surgical strikes, air strikes, or Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been described as gentle like a flower toward friends in the international community and harder than a thunderbolt against adversaries. No one is provoked unnecessarily, but any challenge to the nation is met firmly.

Naxalism is now on the verge of ending, which is considered a significant achievement. The message of the Prime Minister remains clear: nation and national security are paramount.

Deep respect for Indian philosophy, culture, and values

Shri Modi has not only focused on development but has also preserved and promoted the nation’s heritage. He has deep respect for Indian philosophy, culture, values, and traditions. This is reflected in initiatives such as the construction of the Kashi Corridor, the development of the Mahakal temple premises, the enhancement of various religious sites across the country, restorastion of the Pancha Tirtha

PM Modi sets a new benchmark for dedication, stability and continuity in public life: Nitin Nabin

A Continuous Journey: 8,931 Days of Public Welfare!
The 8,931-day public life of India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is not merely a political journey; rather, it stands as a powerful testament to relentless dedication, sacrifice, and service to the nation—a journey in which every single day has been devoted to the country.

As Gujarat’s longest-serving Chief Minister, he established a robust model of development and good governance. As a Prime Minister with the most extensive prior experience as a Chief Minister, he has not confined governance to mere administration; instead, he has transformed it into a powerful instrument of change.

The historic mandates received in three consecutive Lok Sabha elections—in 2014, 2019, and 2024—stand as irrefutable proof of the unwavering trust that the citizens of the nation repose in him. Furthermore, by surpassing the long tenure of former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling, he has set a new benchmark for dedication, stability, and continuity in public life.

Development in every direction

In the past 11 years, two new colleges opened every day, one new university every week, eight new airports every year, and three new metro routes were inaugurated annually. On average, 30 kilometres of national highways were completed daily, and more than 22 startups were launched every single day. Seventy years after independence, there were only five AIIMS, but under the 10-year leadership of the Prime Minister, 15 new AIIMS have been established. Development in every direction across the country has been made possible due to the exceptional leadership of Shri Modi.

Cleanliness as a nationwide movement

The Prime Minister is not just a politician but also a social reformer. He turned cleanliness into a nationwide movement that reached every citizen. Millions of trees were planted following his call for afforestation. Even during the COVID-19 period, people responded to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s appeals with enthusiasm and unity. The Prime Minister has succeeded in taking every appeal straight to the hearts of the people.

A true unifier of people

Shri Modi is a true unifier of people, possessing an extraordinary and unprecedented ability to bring society together. He has connected every section of society through the “Mann Ki Baat” program. “Mann Ki Baat” is not merely about glorifying government initiatives; it also highlights the unseen heroes who perform exceptional work across the country and society. The Prime Minister has brought these unsung heroes to the forefront, showcasing their contributions to the nation and honouring them. The Padma Awards are a prime example of this transformation; earlier, awards were influenced by favoritism, but now talents across the country are recognized for their extraordinary contributions. From Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to the immortal revolutionary Shyamji Krishna Varma, the nation’s heroes have been

A proud moment for the nation as PM @narendramodi Ji becomes the longest-serving head of a government, surpassing the 8,930-day record of former Sikkim CM Pawan Kumar Chamling. From serving the people as the Chief Minister of Gujarat to leading the country to new heights as the Prime Minister, his journey has been truly inspiring. These years reflect his deep commitment to Maa Bharti and a constant focus on serving the people. duly honoured. Symbols of slavery and colonial subjugation have been systematically removed. For decades, the country bore these remnants of colonial rule, and it was hard to understand what the previous governments were doing.

“Atmanirbhar Bharat”

Shri Narendra Modi has restored the nation with full confidence and self-respect. “Atmanirbhar Bharat” is not just a slogan; it is a goal of self-reliance across every sector. Self-sufficiency in food production has been ensured. Earlier, the country was dependent on PL-480 wheat, but now India is capable of exporting food to the world. The Prime Minister has also demonstrated the ability to turn crises into opportunities, as seen during COVID-19 with the creation of the Agri Infra Fund and vaccine production. This is the kind of extraordinary and visionary leadership that defines Shri Modi.

A Journey That Inspires a Nation

It is a matter of great pride for the country to have received leadership like Shri Narendra Modi. Today, India is not only purchasing defence equipment but has also begun exporting it, whereas earlier the focus was only on deals. It was also stated that in the past, governments often did not return to power, but now governments are being re-elected with consistent victories. By 2013–14, the Bharatiya Janata Party had governments in only five states, whereas today, it has formed governments directly in 14 states, including Manipur, Tripura, Assam, and Odisha, and the NDA is in power in 19 states. This was attributed to the widespread acceptance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi among the people. It was described as the result of the “Politics of Performance,” where development has been prioritized over caste-based or divisive politics. This transformation was credited to the leadership of Shri Modi.

8,931 days of relentless service

After 8,931 days of relentless service, Shri Narendra Modi’s journey stands as a powerful example of dedication, discipline, and vision. This is not just the story of a leader—it is the story of a nation transforming itself. A journey where governance meets purpose, and leadership becomes service. India today, stands more confident, more capable, and more aspirational than ever before.

As India moves forward on the path toward becoming a developed nation, the vision and leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi continue to guide its journey. The dream of a Viksit Bharat, prosperous, strong, self-reliant, and globally respected, is steadily becoming a reality.
