BJP National President meets with the President of Philippines in New Delhi

As part of the Know BJP initiative, BJP National President and Union Minister Shri J.P. Nadda, met with the President of the Philippines, H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., in New Delhi on 05 August 2025.

Welcoming President Marcos Jr., Shri Nadda noted the significance of the visit coinciding with the 75th anniversary of India-Philippines diplomatic relations. He welcomed the elevation of ties to a Strategic Partnership and the release of joint commemorative stamps, reflecting deepening cultural and diplomatic bonds.

Shri Nadda highlighted the BJP’s wide organizational reach and shared insights into its structure and outreach under the Know BJP initiative. He proposed a delegation exchange between the Federal Party of the Philippines (PFP) and the BJP to enhance mutual ties.

He also outlined key flagship initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, particularly in healthcare, social welfare, and foreign policy. Both leaders discussed opportunities for greater collaboration in health and pharmaceuticals, where India is a major partner for the Philippines.

Shri Nadda was accompanied by Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, in-charge of the BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department.

President H.E. Mr. Marcos is on a state visit to India on the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This marks the first visit of President Marcos to India since the assumption of office of the President of the Philippines.
