PM Modi Story                            (Narrated by: Jyotindra Mehta, Gujarat)

In the 1990s, Shri Narendra Modi as a BJP leader was invited by the United States, along with two other leaders, to explore the country and study its democratic processes. This initiative aimed to offer young Indian leaders a deeper understanding of American democracy and governance.

During this visit he delivered a speech at the “Friends of BJP Forum” in New York. This event drew a significant number of Indians residing in the U.S., and Shri Jyotindra Mehta, who was also present at the forum, shared his reflections on the occasion.

“Shri Narendra Modi delivered the speech in English,” Shri Mehta recounted. “While he is an accomplished orator in Gujarati and Hindi, no one expected him to have such a good command of English. His proficiency in all three languages was exceptional.”

Shri Mehta emphasised that language was never a barrier for Shri Narendra Modi in expressing his thoughts. “Shri Modi’s ability to communicate clearly and effectively in multiple languages demonstrates his exceptional linguistic skills,” Shri Mehta added.

“Even in English, which was not his first language, he conveyed his ideas with impressive clarity.” The experience not only highlighted Shri Modi’s linguistic versatility but also his clarity of thought.
