BJP ‘Sakriya Sadasyata Abhiyan’ launched
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi became the first Active Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party as he launched the party’s “Sakriya Sadasyata Abhiyan” or Active Membership Campaign on 16 October 2024.
Noteworthy, to be an Active Member, a Karyakarta has to register 50 members either at a single booth or in a Vidhan Sabha seat. Such Karyakartas will be eligible to contest elections for a Mandal Committee and above. At the same time, they will get many opportunities to work for the party in the times to come. The BJP launches a fresh membership drive every six years. Every existing BJP member must enrol him/herself afresh, and new members are also added.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi renewed his membership in the presence of BJP National President and Union Minister Shri JP Nadda and BJP National General Secretary Shri Vinod Tawde, who is also the convener of the nationwide membership drive.
PM Shri Narendra Modi wrote on X, “A unique initiative to create active workers through active membership campaign! I am very proud that today as a party worker, I became the first active member of @BJP4India and started this campaign”.
He said the movement will further strengthen the party at the grassroots and ensure the effective contribution of Party Karyakartas for national progress. “The active membership campaign will give new energy to all party workers to work for the country. Only by becoming an active member will you get the opportunity to serve at the Mandal, district and national level. I appeal to the workers across the country to also become active members of the BJP and strengthen this campaign,” he added.
In another post, Shri Modi noted that active members will be eligible to contest elections for a ‘Mandal Committee’ and above. At the same time, they will get many opportunities to work for the party in the times to come, he added.
Shri Modi said, “Adding momentum to our endeavour of making a Viksit Bharat! As a @BJP4India Karyakarta, proud to become the first Sakriya Sadasya and launch the Sakriya Sadasyata Abhiyan today in the presence of our national President, Shri @JPNadda Ji. This is a movement which will further strengthen our Party at the grassroots and ensure effective contribution of our Party Karyakartas for national progress.
BJP National President becomes Sakriya Sadasya
The next day on 17 October 2024, BJP National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda renewed his membership as an active member.
He tweeted, “Today I am proud to renew my membership as an active member under the nationwide ‘Active Membership Campaign’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party. This campaign started under the leadership of the respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, will reach the divisional, district and national level and will provide opportunities to millions of workers to do social service with the resolve to build a ‘developed India’. I appeal to all the workers to become a part of the campaign as active members and strengthen the organization”.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Shri Amit Shah, BJP senior leader, Bharat Ratna and former Deputy PM Shri LK Advani also renewed their membership under the nationwide ‘Active Membership Campaign’ of the party.
Defence Minister becomes Active Member of BJP
After becoming an active member Union Minister Shri Rajnath Singh said, “Today, under the active membership campaign, the active membership of @BJP4India was renewed. Active membership of BJP gives every Karyakarta an opportunity to work for the development of the country and society.
Join this campaign of nation building under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and become an active member of the party”.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister becomes Active Member
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah after becoming an active member of the party said, “Yesterday Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji started the ‘Active Membership Campaign’ by becoming the first active member of BJP. I also took active membership of BJP under this campaign.
BJP workers can become active members by registering 50 new members in their
booth or assembly constituency. This campaign will not only give more momentum to the BJP membership campaign, but through this, active members who make nation first the aim of their life will also come forward.
This campaign is going to play an important role in making BJP the strongest party in the world by highlighting its hard-working, capable and dedicated workers”.
Noteworthy, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Rashtriya Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024 at the BJP Central Office in New Delhi on 02 September 2024. BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda addressed outlined the phases of the campaign and reaffirmed the target of the membership drive. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was the first to take membership of BJP under this campaign through a missed call.
As per the programme, the First phase of the BJP’s membership drive, started with the blessings of the Prime Minister and run until September 25. The second phase was commenced on October 1 and continued until October 15. The active membership campaign was started from October 16 to continue until October 31.
