NDA Leaders Meeting in Chandigarh
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi attended the NDA leaders meeting held in Chandigarh on 17 October 2024. The Prime Minister complimented the gathering describing it as the largest group of non-Congress political parties post 1975. 17 Chief Ministers and 18 Deputy Chief Ministers participated in this conclave. The PM suggested that such meetings should be held twice every year. The meeting started immediately after the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected BJP government in Haryana.
Calling the victory in Haryana significant and historic, Shri Narendra Modi said that NDA has secured the trust and support of all sections of society. He also highlighted how the Opposition tried to portray false narratives of the NDA being anti-farmer whereas it was the farmers who came out in large numbers to bless the NDA! He thanked the people of Haryana for rejecting the negative politics of opposition and giving them a clear message that they stand with progress and good governance agenda of the NDA.
NDA government fulfilling the rising aspirations of the common citizens
Shri Modi said today, the NDA government is fulfilling the rising aspirations of the common citizens and it has been the distinction of the NDA government to ensure last mile delivery which has helped in building the trust in public towards the government since 2014.
Highlighting the fact that Good governance ultimately means finding solutions to people’s problems, Shri Modi said that solution-centric governance with a focus on grievance redressal is a distinctive identity of all NDA State governments.
Received 4.5 crore letters in the last 10 years
While comparing with the UPA government, the Prime Minister said that he has received 4.5 crore letters in the last 10 years as compared to 5 lakh letters in 10 years of UPA government, which reflects the trust of people in NDA government.
Smooth Governance, Fast Decision Making, and Transparency in governance helped in attracting investors and investment in NDA states, said Shri Modi.
Maharashtra CM Shri Eknath Shinde moved a resolution congratulating PM Shri Narendra Modi on BJP’s victory in Haryana assembly elections, which was seconded by Nagaland CM Shri Neiphiu Rio and Goa CM Shri Pramod Sawant.
‘Samvidhan ka Amrut Mahotsav’
Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh moved a resolution on the subject of the Celebration of 75 years of the making of the Constitution of India as ‘Samvidhan ka Amrut Mahotsav.’ Adding to this and highlighting the restoration of the dignity of the Constitution, the Prime Minister said that for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, the swearing-in of the new government was conducted as per the provisions of the Constitution of India.
50th year of Murder of Democracy
Union Home & Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah moved a resolution to observe the year 2025 as the 50th year of Murder of Democracy.
The leaders, in three other resolutions, also resolved to celebrate the 150th birth anniversaries of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and the Birth Centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the year 2025.
Andhra Pradesh CM and senior NDA leader Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu initiated the discussion on the concept of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He appreciated the actions taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to strengthen the Indian economy and bringing pride to India globally. He specifically emphasised the need for collaboration among States.
Pro-people pro-active good governance or P2G2
Shri Modi elaborated on the concept of pro-people pro-active good governance or P2G2. He emphasized the need for greater interaction between all NDA States, as also Ministers and MLAs from these States and connect with each other through social media.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, while stressing on Jan Bhagidari, said that the participation of people in governance has reduced the burden of the government. He also appreciated the NDA government’s direct connection with the youth of the nation and engaging them in the journey towards Viksit Bharat.
Work unitedly towards TB Mukt Bharat
The PM also urged the leaders to work unitedly towards TB Mukt Bharat, promoting natural farming, waste management, making big cities growth engines of states, boosting tourism and adopting an 11-point programme of welfare and development.
Shri Modi suggested to NDA leaders to have competitions among cities of NDA-ruled states for cleanest tourist destinations, cleanest hospitals, cleanest Panchayats etc.
