As part of the KNOW BJP initiative, BJP National President and Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri JP Nadda, met the President of the Republic of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam in New Delhi on 16 January 2025.
During the meeting, Shri Nadda outlined the organizational structure and activities of the BJP. He also highlighted the recent visit of a 16-member delegation from Singapore’s People’s Action Party (PAP) to India under the KNOW BJP initiative. He emphasized how the exchange was a valuable, mutual learning experience. He also elaborated on various healthcare initiatives of the Modi government, especially for the vulnerable sections of society, children and women.
Both leaders reflected on the significant progress in India-Singapore bilateral relations over the past decade and explored avenues for further collaboration, particularly in the healthcare sector.
Shri Nadda was accompanied by BJP Foreign Affairs Department In-charge, Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, during the discussions.
H.E. Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam’s state visit to India also marks the beginning of the 60th-anniversary celebrations of diplomatic ties between India and Singapore.
