PM’s Rally In Rajasthan

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on 07 March 2026, said that the rapid development of Rajasthan is significantly strengthening the vision of a “Viksit Bharat,” as he laid the foundation stone of a new airport project in Kota worth around Rs. 1,500 crore. Highlighting the pace of progress in the state, the Prime Minister recalled his recent visit to Ajmer, where multiple development projects worth thousands of crores were launched, and appointment letters were distributed to over 21,000 youth. He said that within a span of just one week, two major development initiatives reflect how fast Rajasthan is advancing across sectors such as infrastructure, employment, agriculture, and women’s empowerment.

A milestone for the Hadoti region

Calling the Kota airport project a milestone for the Hadoti region, the Prime Minister said it will benefit districts including Kota, Bundi, Baran, and Jhalawar, bringing new opportunities for growth and connectivity.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Kota holds a unique identity as both an education hub and a major energy centre, producing electricity from multiple sources including nuclear, thermal, gas, and hydro. He also highlighted the global recognition of local products such as Kota Doria sarees, Kota stone, sandstone, and agricultural produce like coriander and basmati rice from Bundi.

Will promote tourism

He said improved air connectivity will also promote tourism in the region, which is home to several religious and natural attractions. Prominent sites such as Mathuradheesh Ji Temple, Keshav Rai Patan, Khade Ganesh Ji, Godavari Balaji Dham, and scenic locations like Garadia Mahadev on the Chambal River, along with wildlife sanctuaries like Mukundra Hills and Ramgarh Vishdhari, are expected to attract more visitors, creating employment and boosting the local economy.

Highlighting ongoing infrastructure development, the Prime Minister noted that Kota is already witnessing rapid connectivity improvements. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, major railway stations are being modernized, while the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is enhancing road connectivity, reducing travel time to cities like Delhi, Vadodara, and Mumbai. He added that better road and rail infrastructure is encouraging industrial growth, especially in agro-based sectors, and the new airport will further accelerate this momentum.

Airports increased from 70 in 2014 to 160

Speaking on the broader vision of connectivity, the Prime Minister said that infrastructure expansion has been a key driver of development over the past decade. He pointed out that the number of airports in India has increased from around 70 before 2014 to more than 160 today, improving accessibility, boosting tourism, and creating employment opportunities across the country. He also mentioned the development of new airports in regions around Delhi, including Hisar, Hindon, and Jewar.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that coordinated efforts between the central and state governments are essential for accelerating development. He said Rajasthan is witnessing such synergy today, leading to faster implementation of projects and better outcomes for citizens.
