The Winter Session of Parliament, which concluded on December 19, 2025, stands as a testament to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment to the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. With Lok Sabha productivity soaring to 111% and Rajya Sabha to 121%, the session was defined by decisive legislative action, while taking bold, transformative and futuristic reforms. The most transformative achievement was the passage of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Bill, 2025. Replacing the two-decade-old MGNREGA, this new statutory framework aligns rural employment with modern economic realities, guaranteeing 125 days of work while focusing on tangible asset creation and skill development for a self-reliant rural India. Equally significant was the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill, 2025. By opening the civil nuclear sector to private participation, the government has taken a giant leap toward energy security and clean power, essential for India’s industrial expansion. On the economic front, the Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, 2025 is a game-changer. Raising the FDI limit in the insurance sector to 100%, this move will deepen insurance penetration, lower premiums, and attract massive global capital, ensuring financial security for every citizen. Additionally, the passage of the Health Security se National Security Cess Bill, 2025 demonstrates a prudent approach to funding national security and health without compromising fiscal stability.
The session was not merely about legislation, it also demonstrated constructive parliamentary dialogue when extensive debates on electoral reforms and Vande Matram took place. While the government offered a measured, fact-based rebuttal to

opposition concerns regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the discussion on ‘Vande Mataram’ allowed for a dignified exploration of India’s cultural heritage, wherein the government successfully anchored the narrative in historical continuity and national unity. The Winter Session 2025 will be remembered not just for the bills passed, but for laying the structural foundation of a developed, energy-secure, and economically robust India.
As nation remembers former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 101st birth anniversary, ‘Good Governance Day’ was celebrated across the nation. He was among India’s most admired national leaders, known for statesmanship, eloquence, and an ability to build consensus across political divides. As Prime Minister (1996, 1998–2004), he helped reshape India’s strategic and diplomatic profile, the 1998 Pokhran-II nuclear tests asserted India’s security autonomy, while his parallel emphasis on dialogue reflected his belief that strength and peace-making could coexist. His government is strongly associated with infrastructure and connectivity as instruments of nation-building, particularly the Golden Quadrilateral highway network and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which improved movement of people, goods, and services and supported wider economic integration. On the economic front, his tenure saw continued reforms and a push for technology and telecom expansion, alongside social-sector initiatives aimed at broadening access. Beyond policy, Vajpayee’s contribution lay in elevating the quality of public discourse, he was widely respected for his grasp and understanding on various issues of national and international importance, respect for constitutional institutions, and an inclusive national vision that sought unity among the people -leaving a legacy of leadership anchored in democratic values, constitutionalism and public service. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has rightly credited him for bringing good governance to the ground. Kamal Sandesh parivar pays its heartfelt tribute to the former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 101st birth anniversary.
