As Shri Nitin Nabin assumed the charge of BJP National President amid grand celebrations by the BJP Karyakartas, the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, along with outgoing BJP National President Shri JP Nadda and former BJP Presidents – Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Union Home & Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, and Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari—filled the occasion with fervour and enthusiasm. The ‘Sangathan Parv’ which concluded with the election of Shri Natin Nabin as the new BJP National President, saw the participation of millions of karyakartas in internal organizational exercises across the nation. The exercise to elect presidents from mandal level to district level and then to state level and national level is not only exceptional but also shows BJP’s unflinching faith in its karyakartas and their ideological commitment and faith in democracy. While felicitating Shri Nitin Nabin immediately after the announcement of his election as the new BJP National President, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his inspiring address to the assembled karyakartas has summed up the BJP’s approach saying organisational expansion and karyakarta development are the BJP’s core priorities while emphasising that the party follows worker-first philosophy, adding that Shri Nitin Nabin’s simplicity, organisational experience, and youthful energy will further strengthen the party as India enters the crucial phase on the path to a ‘Viksit Bharat.’
The overwhelming blessings that the people showered on BJP during the recently held local body elections in Maharashtra, Kerala, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Goa show that the party has become the first preference of the people from panchayat to parliament across the nation. In Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMP), BJP has registered massive victory in alliance with Shiv Sena, ending the decade-long hold of UBT led political alliance. In Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayuti alliance—led by the BJP alongside the Shiv Sena (Shinde) and the Nationalist Congress Party—swept elections to municipal councils and nagar panchayats across the state. In Kerala, traditionally a difficult terrain for the BJP, the party and its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners registered notable gains. Most significantly, the BJP became the single largest party in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation, winning the post of mayor with 51 of the 101 votes cast in its favour ending decades of Left Democratic Front dominance in the state capital’s civic body. This marked a historic breakthrough in a region long dominated by the Left and Congress. In Arunachal Pradesh, the BJP maintained its strong grassroots position in local body polls. It secured a commanding majority in the Itanagar Municipal Corporation, winning 14 of 20 wards, and performed strongly across district and village-level bodies, underscoring its organisational depth in the Northeast. In Goa, the BJP-led alliance topped the Zilla Panchayat elections, with the party and partners winning the largest number of rural seats across North and South Goa, consolidating its influence in local governance. Finally, in Assam, the BJP and its ally Asom Gana Parishad delivered a landslide victory in the 2025 Panchayat elections, jointly winning a large majority of Zilla Parishad and Anchalik Panchayat seats, underscoring continued grassroots appeal in the state’s rural heartland.
Overall, these local body successes signal the BJP’s organisational strength, commitment of its karyakartas, vision of its leadership, and ability to expand influence across diverse regions and political landscapes, from the West and South to the Northeast of India. As India marches ahead as the fastest-growing major economy in the world under the charismatic and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the ever-growing blessings and affections of the people have led to transformative politics of performance in the country, paving the path of ‘Viksit Bharat.’
