BJP National President meets with the Leader of the Opposition of Sri Lanka

As part of the KNOW BJP initiative, BJP National President and Union Minister Shri JP Nadda, met with the Leader of the Opposition of Sri Lanka, Hon. Sajith Premadasa, in New Delhi on 06 November 2025.
Welcoming Hon. Premadasa to India, Shri Nadda observed that over the past decade, the India–Sri Lanka partnership has deepened significantly, with Sri Lanka continuing to remain a key focus of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Neighbourhood First policy.
Shri Nadda spoke about the BJP’s vision of inclusive governance and people-driven development, noting that close coordination between the party and the government has led to the effective implementation of welfare schemes across India.
He explained that the KNOW BJP initiative serves as a platform to foster dialogue and mutual understanding between the BJP and political parties and leaders across the world. Shri Nadda also proposed initiating engagement between the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the BJP to strengthen mutual understanding and share organisational experiences.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening this enduring partnership, rooted in shared heritage, democratic values, and mutual respect.
Shri Nadda was accompanied by Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, In-charge of the BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department.
