On the Balidan Diwas of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee
Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Nitin Nabin on 23, June 2026 paid floral tributes to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the pioneer of nationalism and national unity, on his 73rd Balidan Diwas at a seminar organized in Karol Bagh, Delhi. Introducing the life and legacy of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Shri Nabin highlighted his decision to relinquish his ministerial position in the Government of India in the national interest and establish the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Jammu & Kashmir remained an integral part
He also spoke about Dr. Mookerjee’s movement to ensure that Jammu & Kashmir remained an integral part of India and his ultimate sacrifice for this cause. Delhi BJP President and Union Minister of State Shri Harsh Malhotra, Lok Sabha MP Sushri Bansuri Swaraj, and several other leaders were present on the occasion.
A staunch nationalist
Shri Nitin Nabin said that Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was a staunch nationalist, an eminent thinker, and India’s first Minister for Industry. The India he had envisioned and the ideals for which he sacrificed his life are today being realized in a meaningful manner.
Founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951
Shri Nabin stated that when Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951, it was with the vision and resolve of providing strong leadership to nationalist ideology. Today, the Bharatiya Janata Party is carrying forward that very nationalist thought while working for India’s progress and development.
True tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee
The BJP National President asserted that the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu & Kashmir under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is a true tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Shri Nabin added that the Bharatiya Janata Party has now established its government even in West Bengal, the birthplace of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
The vision that Dr. Mookerjee had for India is being translated into reality today under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The efforts of the Prime Minister and crores of BJP karyakartas to fulfil Dr. Mookerjee’s dreams and objectives constitute our true tribute to his memory.
