The Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated its 47th Foundation Day at the party central office in New Delhi on 6 April 2026. BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin hoisted the party flag and addressed party Karyakartas, highlighting the party’s ideological legacy, its journey of struggle and growth, and its commitment to building a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
The event witnessed the presence of several senior leaders, including BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) Shri BL Santhosh, National Jt. General Secretary (ORG.) Shri Shiv Prakash, National General Secretary Shri Arun Singh, National General Secretary Shri Dushyant Gautam, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, and other senior leaders, among others.
A key highlight of the celebration was an inspirational video message by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who addressed millions of BJP Karyakartas across the country. In his message, the Prime Minister described the BJP as a symbol of good governance and effective last-mile delivery, emphasizing that the party has built its identity on fulfilling promises rather than merely making them.
Addressing party karyakartas, BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin said it was a matter of great honour for him to celebrate the Foundation Day of the party as its National President. He extended his greetings to all former party presidents and paid tribute to generations of Karyakartas whose dedication and sacrifices have shaped the BJP’s journey.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the BJP Karyakartas on the party’s Sthapana Diwas on 6 April 2026, paying tribute to generations of workers and their dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. He reminisced about the early years when the BJP had neither power nor resources, and Karyakartas travelled tirelessly to connect with people. He reiterated their belief in a brighter future for Bharat, which sustained them despite challenges such as the Emergency, political isolation, and violence.
The PM paid homage to all those who lost their lives for the welfare of people, particularly in states like West Bengal and Keralam and said BJP workers have always remained fearless and committed to nation-building.
‘Clean and value-based governance’
Reflecting on the BJP’s growth, PM Shri Modi said the party’s success is rooted in a long journey of intent, policy, and dedication. Inspired by the ideals of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the BJP entered politics with a commitment to ‘clean and value-based governance’. Over the decades, the party built a strong cadre driven by service, discipline, and ideological clarity.
He highlighted that the BJP has also set a new benchmark in coalition politics through the NDA, which has completed over 25 years, reflecting inclusivity and respect for regional aspirations.
Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam
Speaking on governance, he recalled that the party had resolved to ensure greater participation of women and fulfilled its commitment by bringing the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam to implement it in the 2029 elections.
Abrogation of Article 370
He said today, the principle of Antyodaya guides the BJP. He noted that through a saturation approach, the government has helped lift 25 crore people out of poverty. Shri Modi highlighted key milestones achieved by the government, including the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, fulfilling a long-standing commitment of the party.
He added that the BJP has consistently worked to strengthen national unity through initiatives like One Nation One Tax with GST, One Nation One Ration Card, and One Nation One Grid, etc.
India’s global outlook
Emphasising India’s global outlook, the PM said the country is guided by the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and is engaging with the world with equal closeness. He said BJP has balanced development with heritage, ensuring due recognition to all great personalities of India, including Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Azad Hind Fauj, while also promoting Khadi and the spirit of self-reliance.
India is achieving its climate goals ahead of time
On economic and environmental progress, Shri Modi noted that India is achieving its climate goals ahead of time and has significantly expanded its renewable energy capacity, especially in solar power.
Concluding his address, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that the BJP will continue to work with dedication towards nation-building, guided by its core principle: “Rashtra Pratham (Nation First)”.

Describing the Foundation Day as more than just an organisational milestone, he said it represents the celebration of an enduring ideology inspired by Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s nationalism, Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Antyodaya, and the governance model of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
“Nation First” as Core Guiding Principle
Reiterating the BJP’s guiding philosophy, Nitin Nabin emphasized the principle of “Nation First, Party Next, Self Last.” He said the party views politics not as a means to attain power but as a path of nation-building.
He called upon party workers to dedicate themselves to strengthening the

organisation and to work tirelessly to achieve the vision of a developed India by 2047. “The BJP’s journey has not been easy. Thousands of karyakartas have endured hardships, torture, and even sacrificed their lives to bring the party to its current position,” he said, paying homage to those who lost their lives in states like West Bengal, Kerala, and Jammu & Kashmir.
From Struggles to Global Recognition
Reflecting on the party’s early struggles, Nitin Nabin recalled the 1984 general elections, when the BJP secured only two seats in Parliament. Despite the setback, he said, party workers remained resolute and continued their efforts with determination and faith.
He highlighted how senior leaders such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani travelled extensively, often under modest conditions, to connect with people and strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level. He also mentioned the simplicity and accessibility of leaders like Murli Manohar Joshi, who frequently engaged with citizens directly.
“From putting up posters and writing on walls to becoming the world’s largest political party with over 14 crore members, this journey reflects the dedication of countless karyakartas,” he said.
Emphasis on Grassroots Strengthening
The BJP President stressed the need to further strengthen the party’s organisational structure at the grassroots level. He urged workers to transform every booth into an “invincible booth” and ensure that the party’s presence and influence reach every corner of the country.
Quoting a famous poem by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he encouraged Karyakartas to remain steadfast in the face of challenges and continue working collectively for the party’s growth.
Learning from Past Struggles
Nitin Nabin shared his recent experiences from visits to Kerala and West Bengal, where he met families of party workers who had faced violence and loss. He said these interactions reinforced his belief in the unwavering commitment of BJP Karyakartas, who continue to serve the party despite personal hardships.
He emphasized that every Karyakarta must be prepared for struggle and sacrifice, stating that such dedication is essential for securing a better future for the nation.

Leadership and Public Connect
Highlighting the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, the BJP President said the Prime Minister has successfully connected with people across the country and earned their trust through his governance model. He cited examples of the Prime Minister’s interactions with grassroots communities, noting that such engagement reflects a deep sense of empathy and commitment.
He said that party workers must learn from this approach and build strong connections with the public to strengthen trust and credibility.
Commitment to Ideological Goals
Shri Nitin Nabin also referred to key ideological milestones such as the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the abrogation of Article 370, describing them as examples of the party’s commitment to fulfilling long-standing promises.
Recalling past experiences in Kashmir, he said that seeing the Indian tricolour flying proudly at Lal Chowk today is a matter of pride for every BJP worker and reflects the success of years of struggle and dedication.
Vision for the Future
Concluding his address, Shri Nitin Nabin called upon all BJP workers to take a collective pledge to strengthen the party and contribute towards building a developed India.
Digital Training and Organisational Expansion
The BJP has launched a major digital training initiative aimed at enhancing both the reach and quality of its organisational network. Party National President Shri Nitin Nabin said the programme has already been implemented in over 80% of Mandals and will soon be expanded to District and State levels.
He noted that a dedicated digital platform has been created for the party’s vast network of Karyakartas, enabling them to better understand the party’s ideology and improve their engagement with the public.
He emphasized that the goal of transforming India into a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047 can only be achieved through sustained effort, unity, and dedication. “The BJP must grow like a banyan tree, expanding its reach while remaining firmly rooted in its values,” he said.
