Effective use of Made-in-India equipment during Operation Sindoor bolstered India’s reputation both regionally & internationally: Raksha Mantri

| Published on:

“The effective use of Made-in-India equipment by the Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor bolstered India’s reputation both regionally and internationally,” said Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh while urging the domestic industry, especially the private sector, to further accelerate the pursuit of self-reliance by focusing on innovation and R&D; technology-based manufacturing, production of individual subsystems and components, and dominating the supply and maintenance chains. He was addressing the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) Annual Session, organised on the theme ‘Defence Self-Reliance: Strengthening National Security through Indigenous Industry’, in New Delhi on October 27, 2025.

Raksha Mantri asserted that the world witnessed the power of Akash missile system, BrahMos, AkashTeer Air Defence Control System and other indigenous equipment/platforms during Operation Sindoor, and the credit of the operation’s success goes to the brave Armed Forces as well as “Industry warriors” who worked on the front lines of innovation, design, and manufacturing. He described the Indian industry as one of the most important pillars of defence alongside the Army, the Navy and the Air Force.

“Although we gave a firm response with a firm resolve and our forces are fully prepared to defend the country’s borders, we must continue to introspect. Operation Sindoor should serve as a case study from which we can learn and chart our future course. This incident has once again shown us that anything can happen at our borders, anywhere, at any time. We need to be ready for a war-like situation, and our preparedness must be based on our own foundation,” said Shri Rajnath Singh.

Raksha Mantri emphasised that the present-day global uncertainties call for an in-depth assessment of every domain, with ‘indigenisation’ being the only way to deal with the challenges emanating from the constantly-evolving defence sector and the nature of warfare. “The established world order is weakening, and conflict zones are increasing in many regions. It has, therefore, become necessary for India to redefine its security and strategy,” he said.

Shri Rajnath Singh pointed out that the Government, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is creating a level-playing field to enhance defence manufacturing and strengthen the domestic ecosystem, and the industry must make full use of this opportunity. “We’re striving to ensure that the defence equipment is not just assembled in the country, but a real manufacturing base is established to create the equipment embodying the spirit of ‘Made in India, Made for the World’. Numerous initiatives such as the Quantum Mission, Atal Innovation Mission, and the National Research Foundation have been taken to develop a culture of innovation and R&D. Our industry must accomplish what has not yet been achieved in the country,” he said.

Highlighting the progress achieved due to the Government’s self-reliance efforts, Raksha Mantri stated that, before 2014, India was completely dependent on imports for its security needs, but today it is manufacturing the defence equipment on its own soil. “Our defence production, which was only around Rs 46,000 crore in 2014, has now increased to a record Rs 1.51 lakh crore, of which Rs 33,000 crore has been contributed by the private sector. Our defence exports, which were less than Rs 1,000 crore 10 years ago, have touched a record approx. Rs 24,000 crore. I’m confident that defence exports would reach Rs 30,000 crore by March 2026. We recently launched Defence Procurement Manual 2025 and work is underway to revise the Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020,” he said, urging the private sector to increase its contribution to the domestic defence manufacturing from the current around 25% to at least 50% in the next three years.

To further increase indigenisation, Shri Rajnath Singh urged the industry to strive towards dominating supply chains and maintenance chains while focusing on indigenous manufacturing of individual subsystems and components, and not just complete platforms. “In today’s times, when we purchase major equipment from abroad, its maintenance, repair, overhaul, and spare parts management have significant financial implications throughout its life cycle. This puts a strain on our resources and perpetuates dependence on other countries. As a platform contains a large number of components and inputs, indigenous manufacturing of these subsystems can help increase our indigenous content. We must ensure that ‘our soil, our shield’ becomes our first choice,” he said.

Raksha Mantri added that the objective should not be merely to assemble in India, but rather develop technology-based manufacturing within the country. “We must ensure that any technology transfer is effective and also serves as a means of empowering our indigenous industries,” he said.

Stating that no country can progress without innovation and R&D, Shri Rajnath Singh exhorted the industry to develop large-scale, end-to-end technological products as SIDM completes a decade next year. “Through iDEX and ADITI, our young innovators and industrialists are given challenges/problem statements. The industry should now take up a challenge to develop large-scale end-to-end technological products and bring them to us. We will discuss them and fill the gaps. Our effort is to collaborate with the private sector and move forward. If we work together, the entire landscape of the defence sector will transform,” he said, extending the Government’s full support.

Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, President SIDM Shri Rajinder Singh Bhatia, Director General SIDM Ramesh K, former SIDM President Shri SP Shukla, senior officials of Armed Forces & Ministry of Defence, Industry leaders and young entrepreneurs were present on the occasion.

Union Health Minister administers Integrity Pledge to officers and staff of Health Ministry

| Published on:

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, today administered and took the Integrity Pledge along with senior officers and staff of the Ministry to mark the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025.

The Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed across the country from 27th October to 2nd November 2025 on the theme — “सतर्कता: हमारी साझा जिम्मेदारी” (“Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”). The observance aims to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life, in accordance with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

While administering the pledge, Shri Nadda emphasized the importance of institutionalising ethical practices and building a culture of vigilance at every level of governance. He stated, “A checklist of do’s and don’ts should be prepared in simple, layman’s terms so that people do not end up doing anything wrong in good faith or under compassionate consideration. Training and capacity building should be a regular exercise so that everyone remains aware and alert.”

As a prelude to Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had earlier in the month of August this year issued a circular advising all organizations to undertake a three-month campaign on Preventive Vigilance from 18th August to 17th November 2025, focusing on five key areas namely, (i) Disposal of pending complaints (ii) Disposal of pending cases (iii) Capacity building programs (iv) Asset Management, and (v) Digital initiatives.

Senior officers, officials, and staff members of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare participated in the pledge ceremony and reaffirmed their commitment to upholding ethical values, transparency, and accountability in public service.

Union Agriculture Minister inaugurates National Seeds Corporation’s state-of-the-art seed processing plant

| Published on:

Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today inaugurated the newly established state of the art vegetable and flower seed processing and packaging unit of the National Seeds Corporation (NSC) at Pusa Complex, New Delhi. On this occasion, he also virtually inaugurated five NSC seed processing plants located at Bareilly, Dharwad, Hassan, Suratgarh and Raichur.

The vegetable seed processing plant at Beej Bhawan, Pusa, New Delhi, has a processing capacity of 1 tonne per hour, while the other five NSC plants have a capacity of 4 tonnes per hour each. These facilities are equipped with advanced technologies to ensure the availability of high-quality seeds to farmers and to enhance the quality of seed production across the country.

During the programme, Shri Chouhan also launched the ‘Seed Management 2.0’ system and an online seed booking platform for farmers. Through this platform, farmers will now be able to book their seed requirements online, ensuring greater transparency and accessibility. He emphasised that it is crucial for quality seeds to reach small and marginal farmers.

Shri Chouhan stated that the new facilities will ensure easy access to high-quality seeds, significantly improving agricultural productivity. “These new plants will fulfil farmers’ requirements, which is extremely important. During the recently conducted ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’, the maximum number of complaints received were related to spurious and substandard seeds. Hence, ensuring the supply of quality seeds is essential, and NSC has a vital role to play in this. The government is taking strict measures in this regard,” the Union Minister said.

Commending the NSC team, the Union Minister described this initiative as a major step towards a self-reliant agricultural system, adding that the role of NSC is not merely to earn a livelihood but to fill the nation’s grain reserves.

Shri Chouhan urged the corporation to undertake innovations in regional languages to make its services more accessible to farmers and curb the arbitrary practices of private companies. “Private players have their own role, but public corporations have their distinct importance. The functioning of State Seed Development Corporations also needs to be improved. Considering all these aspects, NSC should work with a clear roadmap,” he said.

The event was attended by Agriculture Secretary Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, NSC CMD and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Smt. Maninder Kaur Dwivedi, Joint Secretary Shri Ajit Kumar Sahu, and senior officials from NSC and the Agriculture Ministry.

The National Seeds Corporation Limited is a Schedule ‘B’ – Mini Ratna Category-I Company, fully owned by the Government of India. Since its establishment in 1963, NSC has been playing a pivotal role in producing and supplying quality seeds to farmers across the country.

PM’s address in the 127th Episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’

| Published on:

My dear countrymen,

Namaskar. Welcome to ‘Mann Ki Baat’. These days, the entire country is immersed in the festive spirit. All of us celebrated Diwali a few days ago, and now a large number of people are busy with Chhath Puja. Thekua is being prepared at homes, ghats are being decorated everywhere, and the markets are bustling. Everywhere, we are witnessing a confluence of devotion, affection, and tradition. The dedication and devotion with which women observe the Chhath Vrat is truly inspiring, in itself.

Friends,

The Mahaparva of Chhath is a reflection of the deep unity between culture, nature, and society. Every section of society comes together at the Chhath ghats. This sight is the most beautiful example of India’s social unity. No matter where you are; within the country or at any corner of the world… if you get the opportunity, do participate in the Chhath festival. Experience this unique feel for yourself. I bow to Chhathi Maiya. I extend my best wishes to all countrymen; especially the people of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Purvanchal, on the occasion of the Chhath Mahaparva.

Friends,

On this occasion of festivals, I had written a letter to all of you sharing my feelings. In the letter, I had mentioned the achievements of the country that have made this year’s festivals even more vibrant. In response to my letter, I have received messages from many citizens of the country. Indeed, ‘Operation Sindoor’ has filled every Indian with pride. This time around, lamps of joy were lit even in those areas where the darkness of Maoist terror once prevailed. People want the complete eradication of the Maoist terror that had jeopardized the future of their children.

There is also a lot of enthusiasm among people regarding the GST Bachat Utsav. This time, something equally pleasant was observed during the festivals. The purchase of indigenous goods in the markets has increased tremendously. In the messages people have sent me, they have mentioned what indigenous products they have purchased this time. Friends, in my letter, I had also urged for a 10 percent reduction in the consumption of edible oil, and people have displayed a very positive response to this as well.

Friends,

I have also received numerous messages regarding cleanliness and efforts towards that. I want to share with you some inspiring stories from different cities of the country.

In Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, a unique initiative has been launched to clean up plastic waste from the city. Garbage Cafes are being run in Ambikapur. These are cafes where you get a full meal in exchange for plastic waste. If someone brings over one kilogram of plastic, they are provided with either lunch or dinner, and in lieu of half a kilogram of plastic, they get breakfast. These cafes are run by the Ambikapur Municipal Corporation.

Friends,

Similarly, engineer Kapil Sharma ji has done something remarkable in Bengaluru. Bengaluru is called the city of lakes, and Kapil ji has started a campaign to give a new life to the lakes here. Kapil ji’s team has rejuvenated 40 wells and 6 lakes in Bengaluru and surrounding areas. The special thing is that he has also involved corporates and local people in his mission.

His organization is also associated with tree plantation campaigns. Friends, Ambikapur and Bengaluru – these inspiring examples show that when you are determined, change is bound to take place.

Friends,

I want to share another example of an effort towards change. As you all know, just as there are forests in the mountains and plains, which bind the soil together, mangroves have a similar importance on the seashores. Mangroves grow in the salty water and marshy land of the sea and are an important part of the marine ecosystem. These mangroves prove very helpful when disasters like tsunamis or cyclones strike.

Friends,

Understanding the importance of mangroves, the Forest Department of Gujarat is running a special campaign. Five years ago, the Forest Department teams started planting mangroves near Dholera near Ahmedabad, and today, mangroves have spread over three and a half thousand hectares on the Dholera coast. The effect of these mangroves is visible throughout the area today. The number of dolphins in the ecosystem there has risen. Crabs and other aquatic creatures have also increased in number, compared to earlier. Not only that; migratory birds are also coming here in large numbers now. This has not only had a positive impact on the environment there, but it is also benefiting the fish farmers of Dholera.

Friends,

Apart from Dholera, mangrove plantation is also going on in full swing in Kutch, Gujarat. A ‘Mangrove Learning Centre’ has also been set up at Kori Creek.

Friends,

This is the very specialty of trees and plants. Irrespective of the place, they are useful for the betterment of every living being. That is why it is said in our scriptures –

धन्या महीरूहा येभ्यो,

निराशां यान्ति नार्थिनः ||

That is, Blessed are the trees & plants from whom, those who seek do not return disappointed. We too should plant trees wherever we live. We need to further promote the ‘एक पेड़ माँ के नाम’ campaign.

My dear countrymen,

Do you know what would be the most satisfying thing for me in the topics we discuss in ‘Mann Ki Baat’? I would say that the topics we discuss in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ inspire people to do something good, something innovative for society. This brings forth many aspects of our culture and our country.

Friends,

Many of you would remember that about five years ago, I discussed Indian breeds of dogs in this program. I had urged my fellow citizens and our security forces to adopt Indian breeds of dogs, as they adapt more easily to our environment and conditions. I am happy to say that our security agencies have made commendable efforts in this direction. BSF and CRPF have increased the number of Indian breed dogs in their contingents. BSF’s National Training Centre for dogs is located in Tekanpur, Gwalior. Here, special focus is being accorded to the Rampur Hound from Uttar Pradesh and the Mudhol Hound from Karnataka and Maharashtra. At this Centre, trainers are training the dogs more effectively with the help of technology and innovation. Training manuals for Indian breed dogs have been rewritten to bring to the fore their unique strengths. At the CRPF’s Dog Breeding and Training School in Bengaluru, Indian breeds such as Mongrels, Mudhol Hounds, Kombai, and Pandikona are being trained.

Friends,

Last year, the All India Police Duty Meet was held in Lucknow. At that time, a dog named Ria caught everyone’s attention. It is a Mudhol Hound trained by BSF. Ria won the first prize there, leaving behind several foreign breeds.

Friends,

Now the BSF has started the tradition of assigning Indian names to its dogs instead of foreign names. Our indigenous dogs have also displayed amazing courage. Last year, during a patrol in a Maoist-affected area of Chhattisgarh, an indigenous dog of CRPF detected 8 kilograms of explosives. I congratulate BSF and CRPF for the efforts they have made in this direction. I am also looking forward to the 31st of October. It is the birth anniversary of the Iron Man, Sardar Patel. Every year, special ceremonies are held near the ‘Statue of Unity’ in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on this occasion. The Ekta Diwas Parade is also held there, and the capabilities of Indian dogs will be showcased again in this parade. You too, should definitely watch it if you get the chance.

My dear countrymen,

The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel is a very special occasion for the entire country. Sardar Patel has been one of the greatest luminaries of the nation in modern times. His towering personality encompassed many qualities. He was an exceptionally brilliant student. He excelled in his studies both in India and Britain. He was also one of the most successful lawyers of his time. He could have earned even more fame in the field of law, but, inspired by Gandhiji, he completely dedicated himself to the freedom movement.

His contributions to numerous movements, from the ‘Kheda Satyagraha’ to the ‘Borsad Satyagraha’, are still remembered today. His tenure as the head of the Ahmedabad Municipality was also historic. He accorded top priority to cleanliness and good governance. We will all forever be indebted to him for his contributions as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.

Friends,

Sardar Patel also laid a strong foundation for India’s bureaucratic framework. He made unparalleled efforts for the unity and integrity of the country. I urge all of you to participate in the Run For Unity being organized across the country on the 31st of October, Sardar Saheb’s birth anniversary, and not just participate alone, but along with others. This should become an opportunity for youth awakening; this run for unity will strengthen unity. This will be our true tribute to that great luminary who united India.

My dear countrymen,

You all know about my association with tea; but today I thought, why not discuss coffee in ‘Mann Ki Baat’! You may recall, last year we talked about Araku coffee in ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Some time ago, many people from Odisha also shared their feelings with me regarding Koraput coffee. They wrote to me saying that Koraput coffee should also be discussed in ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

Friends,

I have been told that Koraput coffee tastes amazing, and not only that; besides the taste, coffee cultivation is also benefiting people. There are people in Koraput who are cultivating coffee through their sheer passion. They were doing handsome jobs in the corporate world… but they liked coffee so much that they entered this field and are now successfully working in it. There also are many women whose lives have been pleasantly transformed by coffee.

They have gained both respect and prosperity through coffee. It has been rightly said:

कोरापुट कॉफी अत्यंत सुस्वादु |

एहा ओडिशार गौरव |

[i.e. Koraput Coffee is truly delectable!

This indeed is a pride of Odisha.]

Friends,

Indian coffee is becoming very popular all over the world. Be it Chikmagalur, Coorg and Hassan in Karnataka; the areas of Pulney, Shevaroy, Nilgiri and Annamalai in Tamil Nadu; the Biligiri region on the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border; or the areas of Wayanad, Travancore and Malabar in Kerala – the diversity of Indian coffee is truly remarkable.

I have been told that our North-East is also progressing in coffee cultivation. This is further strengthening the identity of Indian coffee worldwide – that’s why coffee lovers say:

India’s coffee is coffee at its finest.

It is brewed in India and loved by the World.

My dear countrymen,

In ‘Mann Ki Baat’ now, let’s talk about a subject that is very close to everyone’s hearts. This subject is our national song – India’s national song, ‘Vande Mataram’. A song whose very first word evokes a surge of emotions in our hearts. ‘Vande Mataram’ – this one word contains so many emotions, so many energies. In simple terms, it makes us experience the maternal affection of Ma Bharati. It makes us aware of our responsibilities as children of Ma Bharati. If there is a moment of difficulty, the chant of ‘Vande Mataram’ fills 140 crore Indians with the energy of unity.

Friends,

Patriotism… love for Ma Bharati… if this is an emotion beyond words, then ‘Vande Mataram’ is the song that lends tangible voice form to that abstract feeling. It was composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay to infuse new life into an India weakened by centuries of servitude. ‘Vande Mataram’ might have been written in the 19th century, but its spirit is connected to the immortal consciousness of India that is thousands of years old.

The Vedas laid the foundation of the Indian civilization with the sentiment expressed as ” माता भूमिपुत्रो अहं पृथिव्या: ” Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, by penning ‘Vande Mataram’, enshrined that same relationship between the motherland and its children as a mantra in the universe of emotions.

Friends,

You might be wondering why I am suddenly referring to so much about Vande Mataram! Actually, just a few days from now, on the 7th of November, we will be entering the 150th year of the celebration of ‘Vande Mataram’. ‘Vande Mataram’ was composed 150 years ago, and in 1896, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore sang it for the first time.

Friends,

Crores of countrymen have always felt an immense surge of national pride in the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’. Our generations have seen a vibrant and magnificent image of India in the words of ‘Vande Mataram’.

सुजलाम्सुफलाम्मलयज शीतलाम्,

शस्यश्यामलाम्मातरम्!

वंदे मातरम्!

This is the very India we have to build. ‘Vande Mataram’ will always be our inspiration in these efforts. Therefore, we must also make the 150th year of ‘Vande Mataram’ memorable. We have to carry forward this stream of values for the coming generations. In the times to come, there will be many programs related to ‘Vande Mataram’, many events will be organized in the country. I would like all of us countrymen to make efforts with a spontaneous spirit to glorify ‘Vande Mataram’. Please send me your suggestions with #VandeMatram150. #VandeMatram150. I will be waiting for your suggestions and we will all work together to make this occasion historic.

My dear countrymen,

As soon as we hear the name of Sanskrit, what comes to our mind is – our ‘religious texts’, ‘Vedas’, ‘Upanishads’, ‘Puranas’, scriptures, ancient knowledge and science, spirituality and philosophy. However, alongside all of these, at one time Sanskrit was also a language of communication. In that era, studies and research were conducted in Sanskrit. Dramatic performances were also staged in Sanskrit. But unfortunately, during the period of servitude and also after independence, Sanskrit has consistently suffered from neglect. On account of this, the younger generations’ interest in Sanskrit also kept on diminishing. But friends, times are changing, and so are the times for Sanskrit. The world of culture and social media has lent Sanskrit a new lease of life. These days, many young people are doing very interesting work related to Sanskrit.

If you go to social media, you will see many reels where young people are seen speaking in and about Sanskrit. Many even teach Sanskrit through their social media channels. One such young content creator is Bhai Yash Salunke. What’s special about Yash is that he is both a content creator and a cricketer. His reel on playing cricket while speaking in Sanskrit has been very popular.

Let’s listen –

Friends,

The work of two sisters, Kamala and Janhavi, is also fantastic. These two sisters create content on spirituality, philosophy, and music.

There is another young person’s channel on Instagram called ‘Sanskrit Chhatroham’. The young person who runs this channel not only provides information related to Sanskrit, but also makes humorous videos in Sanskrit. Young people really like these videos in Sanskrit. Many of you may have also seen Samashti’s videos. Samashti presents her songs in Sanskrit in myriad ways. Another young person is Bhavesh Bhimnathani. Bhavesh talks about Sanskrit shlokas, spiritual philosophy, and principles.

Friends,

Language is the carrier of the values and traditions of any civilization. Sanskrit has fulfilled this duty for thousands of years. It is pleasing to observe that some young people are now fulfilling their duty towards Sanskrit as well.

My dear countrymen,

I will now take you into Flashback. Imagine, the early 20th century! At that time, there was no hope of freedom anywhere in sight. The British had crossed all limits of exploitation throughout India, and in that era, the period of repression was even more horrific for the patriotic people of Hyderabad. They were also forced to endure the atrocities of the cruel and merciless Nizam. There was no limit to the atrocities committed against the poor, the deprived, and the tribal communities. Their lands were snatched away, and heavy taxes were also imposed. If they protested against this injustice, even their hands were cut off.

Friends,

In such difficult times, a young man of about twenty years of age stood up against this injustice. Today, I am discussing that young man for a special reason. Before disclosing his name, I will tell you about his bravery. Friends, during that era, when even uttering a word against the Nizam was a crime, that young man openly challenged an officer of the Nizam named Siddiqui. The Nizam had sent Siddiqui to confiscate the farmers’ crops. But in this struggle against oppression, that young man killed Siddiqui. He also successfully managed to evade arrest. Escaping from the tyrannical police of the Nizam, that young man reached Assam, hundreds of kilometers away.

Friends,

The great personality I am talking about is Komaram Bheem. His birth anniversary was celebrated on the 22nd of October. Komaram Bheem did not live a long life; he only lived for 40 years, but during his lifetime, he left an indelible mark on the hearts of countless people, especially the tribal community. He instilled new strength in those fighting against the Nizam. He was also known for his strategic skills. He became a major challenge to the Nizam’s rule. He was killed by the Nizam’s men in 1940. I urge the youth to try to learn as much as possible about him.

Komaram Bheem’s…

Friends,

Next month, on the 15th, we will celebrate the Janajateeya Gaurav Diwas. This is the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. I respectfully pay my homage to Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

The work he did for the country’s independence and for the rights of the tribal community is unparalleled. It was my great fortune to have had the opportunity to visit Ulihatu, the village of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, in Jharkhand. I touched the soil of that land to my forehead in reverence.

Just like Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Komaram Bheem, there have been many other great luminaries in our tribal communities. I urge you to definitely read about them.

My dear countrymen,

I receive numerous messages from you for ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Many people discuss the talented persons in their vicinity in these messages. I am very happy to read that innovative ideas are being implemented even in our small cities, towns, and villages. If you know of such individuals or groups who are dedicated to transforming society with a spirit of service, do tell me about them. I will be waiting for your messages as always. We will meet again next month in another episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, with some new topics. Until then, I bid you adieu. Thank you all very much. Namaste.

On one side there is NDA, an alliance with mature leadership and on the other side there is ‘Maha lathbandhan’: PM

| Published on:

Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, PM Modi kickstarted the NDA’s campaign by addressing massive gatherings in Samastipur and Begusarai, Bihar. He said, “The trumpet of the grand festival of democracy has sounded. The entire Bihar is saying, ‘Phir Ek Baar NDA Sarkar!’” Remembering Bharat Ratna Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur ji, the PM remarked, “It is only due to his blessings that people like us, who come from humble and backward families, are able to stand on this stage today.”

PM Narendra Modi stated, “Inspired by the leader of the people, Karpoori Thakur ji, we are transforming good governance into prosperity. But on the other hand, you know better than me what the RJD and Congress are saying and doing. These people are out on bail in scams worth thousands of crores. Those who are out on bail are out on bail in theft cases. Now their habit of stealing is such that they are engaged in stealing the title of Karpoori Thakur ji. The people of Bihar will never tolerate this insult to the leader of the people, Karpoori Thakur ji. They will never tolerate it…”

Talking about the GST reforms, he said, “You are all benefiting from the ‘GST Bachat Utsav,’ and from tomorrow, the grand festival of Chhath Puja will begin. I thank you all for coming here in large numbers. ‘Nayi raftaar se chalega Bihar, Jab phir aayegi NDA sarkar!’”

Slamming the RJD–Congress corrupt coalition, PM Modi asserted, “The dreams of Bihar’s people are my own dreams. The NDA is committed to building the prosperous Bihar that every youth aspires for. For us, the bright future of Bihar’s young generation is a top priority. But the RJD and Congress only care about their families’ political future, not Bihar’s. They are once again spreading lies to mislead the youth. They forget this is the land of Aryabhata, Bihar understands every calculation.

Highlighting his guarantee, PM Modi reiterated, “RJD’s jungle raj destroyed generations, from extortion and kidnappings to lawlessness and fear. Women, youth, Dalits, and the backward communities suffered the most. When the NDA came to power, we resolved to free Bihar from Maoist and Naxal terror. Today, we have broken its backbone. Very soon, Bihar will be completely free from Maoist violence, this is Modi’s guarantee.”

Furthermore, he warned the people of Bihar that the RJD–Congress alliance wants to bring back those dark days. He said their campaign already echoes the same threats and hooliganism of jungle raj. Bihar must stay alert and once again ensure that the box of jungle raj is sealed for good.

Targeting the Maha Lathbandhan, PM Modi said, “Bihar was freed from the jungle raj in October 2005. Under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the NDA government was formed in the state. During that time, the Congress-RJD alliance was in power at the Centre for 10 years. The Congress-RJD government put obstacles in Nitish Kumar’s path and left no stone unturned to trouble the people of Bihar. The RJD used to take revenge on the people of Bihar for voting for Nitish Kumar. They also used to threaten the Congress, saying they would withdraw support from the government if it agreed to anything that Nitish Kumar or the NDA-BJP wanted.”

While addressing the public gathered at the rally, PM Modi asked them to light the torches on their mobile phones. Taking a dig at the RJD’s symbol, he remarked, “When everyone has light in their hands, do we still need a lantern (RJD’s symbol)?”

PM Narendra Modi added, “This time, under the leadership of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, the NDA will break all its previous records of victory. Bihar will give the NDA its biggest-ever mandate.”

Addressing the second rally of the day in Begusarai, PM Modi stated, ” On one side there is NDA, an alliance with mature leadership and on the other side there is ‘Maha lathbandhan’…”

Taking a swipe at the opposition, the PM iterated, “In this Maha lathbandhan… there is the ‘Atak Dal’, ‘Latak Dal’, ‘Bhatak Dal’, ‘Jhatak Dal’ and ‘Patak Dal’… The RJD hasn’t won any election in the past two decades, yet it remains stuck in its own arrogance. In this arrogance, it pushed away the JMM. The Congress has been a follower of the RJD in Bihar for 35 years, and this time… the RJD pushed it away again. They even misled the VIP. And the left parties? They were left dangling.”

“When self-interest prevails, and loot is the goal, that’s exactly what the RJD and Congress are doing. They first sell tickets, then commit scams. Just look at the RJD family, which is the most corrupt family in Bihar and most of the members are out on bail after being released from court, forced to live on bail. On the other hand, the Congress family is the most corrupt family in the country. Most of the members of this family are also out on bail. Bihar doesn’t trust such people,” he added.

Speaking to the people of Begusarai, PM Modi began, “You all have brought your mobiles, right? Go ahead and switch on your lights. You know, during the Congress era, mobiles were very expensive and had to be imported. Back then, there were only two factories making mobiles in the country. Today, thanks to the BJP-NDA government, there are over 200 factories and data has become very cheap. This has opened up a whole new market for content creation for Bihar’s youth. Today, everyone can see these mobiles, this light. So, do the people of Bihar still need a lantern?”

Highlighting Bihar’s progress under the NDA, PM Modi stated, “Under Nitish Ji’s leadership, nearly 5 million jobs have been created in Bihar. Record recruitments in education, police, and health have been done and even more jobs will come in the next five years. Medical colleges are being set up in every district, including Begusarai, and Ayushman Aarogya centers in villages will generate numerous opportunities for doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.”

PM Modi explained how the GST Bachat Utsav is helping families save more. He affirmed, “Today, our government’s priority is to reduce your expenses and increase your savings. That is the very idea behind the GST Bachat Utsav. With lower GST, every family in Bihar is saving more.”

The PM added, “A report shows that nearly 90% of purchases in the country are of Swadeshi products. This means our shopkeepers are selling local goods and people are buying local. When ‘swadeshi’ products sell, it benefits our farmers, artisans and small businesses.”

Concluding his speech, PM Modi remarked, “The NDA has freed Bihar from Naxalism and Maoist terror. Today, you can work without fear and vote freely. Every vote of the people of Bihar will help build a peaceful, prosperous Bihar and keep the forces of jungle raj away.”

Prime Minister addresses Rozgar Mela

| Published on:

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Rozgar Mela via videoconferencing today. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister remarked that this year’s festival of lights, Diwali, has brought new illumination into everyone’s lives. Amidst the festive celebrations, receiving appointment letters for permanent jobs adds a double dose of joy—both the cheer of the festival and the success of employment. Shri Modi highlighted that this happiness has reached over 51,000 youth across the country today. He acknowledged the immense joy this brings to their families and extended his congratulations to all the recipients and their family members. He conveyed his best wishes for this new beginning in their lives.

Highlighting the enthusiasm, capacity for hard work, and the self-confidence born from fulfilled dreams among the newly appointed youth, Shri Modi remarked that when this spirit is combined with a passion to serve the nation, their success transcends personal achievement and becomes a triumph for the country. The Prime Minister emphasized that today’s appointments are not merely government jobs, but opportunities to actively contribute to nation-building. He expressed confidence that the appointees will work with integrity and sincerity, and play a vital role in creating better systems for the India of the future. The Prime Minister further appealed to the new appointees to not forget the mantra of ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’ and work by upholding the spirit of service and dedication.

“For the past 11 years, the nation has been advancing with a resolve to build a developed India, with the youth playing the most pivotal role in this journey”, highlighted the Prime Minister, emphasizing that youth empowerment remains a top priority for their government. He noted that Rozgar Melas have become a powerful medium to fulfill the aspirations of young Indians, with over 11 lakh appointment letters issued through these Melas in recent times. Shri Modi further stated that these efforts are not limited to government jobs alone. The government has launched the ‘PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana’ with a target to provide employment to 3.5 crore youth. He further remarked that initiatives like the Skill India Mission are equipping youth with necessary training, while platforms such as the National Career Service are connecting them with new opportunities. He also noted that through this platform, information on more than 7 crore vacancies has already been shared with the youth.

Prime Minister announced a major initiative for youth—the ‘Pratibha Setu Portal’—which offers opportunities to candidates who reached the final list of UPSC but were not selected. He emphasized that their efforts will not go in vain, as both private and public institutions are now engaging with these talented individuals through the portal. Shri Modi remarked that this optimal utilization of youth talent will showcase India’s youth potential to the world.

Highlighting that the festive season has been enriched by the GST Bachat Utsav, Shri Modi noted the significant reform in GST rate reductions across the country. He stated that the impact of these reforms goes beyond consumer savings, as next-generation GST reforms are also expanding employment opportunities. When everyday goods become cheaper, demand rises; increased demand accelerates production and supply chains; and higher factory output leads to the creation of new jobs. Therefore, the GST Bachat Utsav is also transforming into an Employment Festival. The Prime Minister pointed out the record-breaking sales witnessed during Dhanteras and Diwali, with new records set and old ones surpassed, demonstrating how GST reforms have given fresh momentum to the nation’s economy. He noted the positive impact of these reforms on the MSME sector and retail trade, which are now generating new employment opportunities in manufacturing, logistics, packaging, and distribution.

“India is currently the youngest country in the world and the strength of India’s youth is one of its greatest assets”, stated Shri Modi, emphasizing that this belief and confidence guide the nation’s progress across all sectors, including foreign policy, which is now being shaped with the interests of young Indians in mind. The Prime Minister highlighted that India’s diplomatic engagements and global MoUs increasingly incorporate provisions for youth training, upskilling, and employment generation. He noted that during the recent visit of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, both nations agreed to enhance investments in sectors such as AI, fintech, and clean energy. He added that the Free Trade Agreement signed a few months ago between India and the UK will also open up new opportunities. Similarly, investment partnerships with several European countries are expected to generate thousands of new jobs. Shri Modi remarked that agreements with countries like Brazil, Singapore, Korea, and Canada will boost investment, support startups and MSMEs, increase exports, and create new opportunities for youth to work on global projects.

Underlining that the successes and vision being discussed today will see significant contributions from the newly appointed youth in the times ahead, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for continuous efforts towards the goal of a developed India, asserting that young karmayogis like them will lead this resolve to fruition. He highlighted the utility of the ‘i-Got Karmayogi Bharat Platform’ in this journey, noting that nearly 1.5 crore government employees are already learning through it. He encouraged the new appointees to join the platform, which would instill a new work culture and a spirit of good governance. Shri Modi concluded by remarking that it is through their efforts that India’s future will take shape and the dreams of its citizens will be realized. He once again extended his best wishes to all the appointees.

Bihar’s youth are not just the beneficiaries of change, they are its creators: PM

| Published on:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with spirited Yuva Karyakartas from Bihar under the “Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot – Yuva Samvaad” initiative, blending inspiration with realism as he urged the youth to be the torchbearers of a Viksit Bharat.

Opening the session, PM Modi spoke of how GST reforms, such as reduced tax on bikes and scooters, have directly benefited young citizens. Emphasising the power of democracy, he reminded that “when the youth lead, the nation moves forward.”

The dialogue featured inspiring exchanges with young voices from across the state. Fellow young karyakartas highlighted how corruption-free access to seeds and fertilisers and the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi have transformed rural life. Recalling Bihar’s dark “Jungle Raj” days, PM Modi urged youth to hear firsthand from elders how lawlessness once ruled, so they value today’s peace and progress.

Discussing Bihar’s journey of transformation, PM Modi lauded the double-engine government for revolutionising roads, bridges and digital connectivity, turning 1.5-day journeys into a few hours’ drive. He encouraged organising a “Run for Unity” on Sardar Patel Jayanti, symbolising strength in togetherness.

In an uplifting interaction, one karyakarta also recited poem “Modi ji hai to mumkin hai.” Her stories of empowered women benefitting from Ayushman Bharat and Mahila Rozgar Yojana drew praise from the PM, who called women “the true architects of New Bihar.” His message to all was simple yet powerful – “Pehle Matdaan, Phir Jalpaan.”

A young karyakarta from Bhagalpur spoke about the transformation from corruption and fake job scams to transparent governance and digital growth. PM Modi humorously described the previous regime as a “lathbandhan,” not a gathbandhan, highlighting the chaos that once defined Bihar’s politics.

The PM commended young leaders, who shared how every home now has electricity, digital access, and direct benefit transfers. PM Modi added, “Lanterns belong to the past, today, light exposes the thieves!”
In his closing remarks, PM Modi urged youth to strengthen every booth, reach every voter, and showcase the impact of government schemes through personal connection. “Every booth is the heartbeat of democracy,” he said, calling upon Bihar’s youth to lead with discipline, service and digital savvy.

Concluding the Yuva Samvaad, PM Modi reaffirmed that Bihar’s youth are not just the beneficiaries of change, they are its creators.
“When every booth becomes strong,” he said, “Bharat becomes unstoppable.”

The Bihar Assembly elections are a contest between NDA’s development and the Mahagathbandhan’s destruction: Jagat Prakash Nadda

| Published on:

Hon’ble Bharatiya Janata Party National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda ji two public rallies in Goh (Aurangabad) and Patepur (Vaishali) and highlighted the unprecedented development works carried out in Bihar under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, while reminding people of the Jungle Raj during Lalu Yadav’s previous regime and strongly criticizing the Mahagathbandhan. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary, UP State Minister Shri Satish Sharma and several other leaders were present on the stage. Shri Nadda appealed to the public to make BJP candidate Shri Ranvijay Singh (Goh) and BJP candidate Shri Lakhendra Kumar Roshan (Patepur) victorious with a huge majority and form NDA government in Bihar once again with a huge majority.

Shri Nadda stated that Bihar is a land that has, since ancient times, made immense contributions in providing leadership to the nation and the world. It is the land of Chanakya, Aryabhata, and Lord Mahavira. The enthusiasm and energy of the people of Bihar reaffirm that they have made up their minds to ensure the victory of the NDA in this election. The stark contrast between the dark era of the past and today’s era of progress is clearly visible; one truly values light only after having witnessed darkness. This election in Bihar is a choice between the development led by the NDA and the destruction brought by the Mahagathbandhan. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, the NDA government has been steering the state toward growth and prosperity. In contrast, during the tenure of the party now led by Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar only suffered ruin and regression.

Hon’ble BJP National President stated that in the last 20 years under the leadership of Shri Nitish Kumar, and over the past 11 years with the blessings of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Bihar has moved swiftly on the path of progress. From roads to railways, Bihar has been firmly placed on the track of development over the past two decades. The railway budget for Bihar has increased tenfold in the last ten years. Out of 44 Vande Bharat trains operating in the country, 26 originate from Bihar. Similarly, under the Amrit Bharat Express Service, around 26 trains start from Bihar, and 98 new railway stations are being developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, something unimaginable during Lalu Yadav’s regime. Lalu Yadav used to mock development by saying, “If roads are built, the police will come to catch me.” Tejashwi Yadav talks big about migration, but he should ask his father, who once remarked that “a Bihari leaves wearing a Gamcha and returns wearing a pant-suit,” such was Lalu Yadav’s so-called “respect” for the people of Bihar. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, 12,000 trains are being run during Diwali and Chhath to help Biharis return home conveniently to celebrate the festivals. That is the light of progress, while Lalu’s era was the darkness of regression. This election is a battle between development and destruction.

Shri Nadda stated that the people of North Bihar have been cultivating Makhana for years, yet no government has ever cared about their concerns. Under the NDA government, the GST on Makhana was reduced from 12% to 5%, and a Makhana Board was established to promote its development. Similarly, the GST on Muzaffarpur’s famous Litchi was also brought down from 12% to 5%, making it more affordable for consumers. Talking about dairy products, he added that milk and paneer have been made GST-free. The Modi government has consistently prioritized the welfare of farmers and the poor, and today, farmers in Bihar are directly benefiting from these decisions. Madhubani’s paintings, Bhagalpur’s silk, and the Darbhanga–Amas Expressway, being constructed at a cost of ₹5,000 crore, are giving a new dimension to Bihar’s overall development.

Hon’ble BJP National President stated that under the Women Employment Scheme, arrangements have been made to connect 2.1 lakh women with self-employment opportunities. Shri Nitish Kumar has already undertaken several initiatives for girls’ education and empowerment, ranging from bicycle distribution to scholarships and other supportive measures. A new and progressive image of Bihar is being shaped at every level, and continuous efforts are being made to realize this vision. A grand development project worth ₹890 crore is underway to rejuvenate Maa Janaki’s Dham. While the Bhavya Ram Mandir has already been completed, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the Punoura Dham, believed to be Mata Sita’s birthplace, is also being restored with reverence. 8.7 crore people in Bihar are receiving free ration under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, and 25 crore people nationwide have now risen above the poverty line. People are directly benefiting from flagship schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana, Ujala Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat. In Bihar alone, 5.45 lakh beneficiaries have received free treatment up to ₹5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Through the Jal Jeevan Mission, 1.6 crore people are getting clean drinking water through household taps, while 47 lakh beneficiaries have been connected to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, 86 lakh farmers in Bihar are receiving ₹2,000 every three months, and Direct Benefit Transfers through Jan Dhan accounts are reaching the people efficiently. Roads have reached villages through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and highways and expressways are now linking Bihar’s remote areas, accelerating connectivity and development. Nearly five airports are operational in Bihar, and twelve new airports are being constructed. The construction of these airports is not merely about developing infrastructure but symbolizes Bihar’s growing connectivity with the nation and the world. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and the tireless efforts of Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, Bihar is rapidly moving forward on the path of progress.

Shri Nadda strongly criticized the Mahagathbandhan, saying that neither Lalu Yadav nor Tejashwi Yadav has uttered a single word about their past misrule. They have not even apologized to the people of Bihar. Their intentions remain unchanged. By giving a ticket to Shahabuddin’s son in this election, Lalu Yadav has once again shown his eagerness to bring back the era of Gunda Raj. The Mahagathbandhan does not want Bihar’s development; they want to drag the state back into the gutter of corruption. The people of Bihar have not forgotten the days when the wife of an IAS officer was molested, when an IAS officer and District Magistrate were killed in broad daylight on the road, and when MP Shahabuddin used to chase and thrash police officers, even SPs, in public. Bihar has not forgotten those days when criminals violated the dignity of women, when kidnapping had become an industry, and when doctors, engineers, lawyers, and traders were all forced to flee the state. Today, when Tejashwi Yadav talks about migration, he should be ashamed. He should look back and understand the character and conduct of his father and mother, under whose regime Bihar witnessed the darkest era of governance. People could not step out of their homes after 3 PM, Naxal terror gripped the rural regions, and even in cities like Patna, no one dared to go out after 5 PM. It was Lalu Prasad Yadav who organized rallies like “Tel Pilawan, Lathiya Bhaajan” in Patna, where people were encouraged to soak their lathis in oil and swing them at Gandhi Maidan. When the Chief Minister himself promoted such rallies, it sent a clear and chilling message: that his government intended to instill fear and terror in the minds of ordinary citizens of Bihar.

Hon’ble BJP National President stated that Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has declared that Tejashwi Yadav will be their leader. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has stated that the Congress party is a parasitic party. This parasitic party attains power by depending on regional parties, clings to those it aligns with, sucks them dry, and then destroys them. Smt. Misa was present there, and it could be asked why she had been named Misa. She was named so because when she was born, Lalu Prasad Yadav was in jail, confined under MISA. The Congress government had imprisoned Lalu Yadav during the Emergency, and today Lalu Yadav is attempting to move forward with those very people. Such opportunists must be kept away from power.

Shri Nadda said that when members of the Congress Party come to seek votes from the public, the people will ask them why the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, had stated that “the DNA of the people of Telangana is superior to that of the people of Bihar.” He had used inappropriate words about Bihar. The Congress, which is part of the Mahagathbandhan, also includes Stalin’s party, whose MP Dayanidhi Maran insulted the people of Bihar by saying that “people from Bihar come to Tamil Nadu to clean streets and bathrooms.” These are the same people now coming to seek votes in Bihar. They are the ones who have repeatedly insulted Bihar’s dignity. Raj Thackeray had stated that “all Biharis are rapists,” and former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Channi had stated that “these Biharis want to come here and rule, which is impossible.” Those who have repeatedly hurt Bihar’s honor are now boldly asking for votes from the people of the same Bihar.

Hon’ble BJP National President stated that these are the same people who, while seeking votes, are promising a job for every family. However, the question arises: how will these jobs be provided? Will land be exchanged for jobs? Or jobs exchanged for land? They talk about giving jobs in exchange for land. Now they claim to provide a job to every family. It is well-known how educated Tejashwi Yadav is. Providing one job each to 2.18 crore families would require ₹12 lakh crore, whereas Bihar’s total budget is only ₹3.17 lakh crore, which makes it impossible. This is exactly like the saying, “Na Nao Mann Tel Hoga, Na Radha Nachegi,” meaning this false promise can never be fulfilled. Tejashwi Yadav is merely trying to mislead the people. The Bihar election is a contest between development and destruction. The NDA government will continue to advance the path of development. Roads are not built for any one caste, trains do not run for people of a particular caste, bridges are not constructed for a single religion; they are for everyone. Hospitals are not open for any specific caste or religion. Schools are not meant for a single caste or religion. The education of daughters is arranged not for one caste but for the development of all. Therefore, with the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” the NDA government is moving forward on the path of development.

Launching scathing attacks on RJD-Congress, Shri Nadda said that in RJD, ‘R’ stands for Rangdari, ‘J’ stands for Jungle Raj, and ‘D’ stands for Dadagiri. Their show of strength is different from their ability to deliver. Those who grab land in the name of jobs can they truly provide employment? Those who cannot respect mothers and sisters can ensure safety? Therefore, in this election, the people of Goh must elect the BJP candidate, Shri Ranvijay Kumar and the people of Patepur must elect the BJP candidate, Shri Lakhendra Kumar Raushan to once again form an NDA government in Bihar.
