Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s recent five-nation visit to the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy showcased India’s growing stature as a leading global power and reflected the Modi government’s vision of positioning India at the center of emerging geopolitical and economic partnerships. In the UAE, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in trade, energy security, digital payments, fintech and infrastructure investment. The growing strategic partnership highlights the success of India’s proactive diplomacy and reinforces the confidence of global investors in India’s growth story.

The visit to the Netherlands advanced cooperation in semiconductors, green hydrogen, logistics and water management—key sectors aligned with the government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. As India seeks to become a global manufacturing hub, such partnerships are crucial for building resilient supply chains and technological capabilities.

The Nordic leg of the tour underscored India’s expanding engagement with innovation-driven economies. In Sweden, discussions centered on defence manufacturing, artificial intelligence, clean technology and innovation ecosystems, while in Norway, cooperation was strengthened in renewable energy, maritime security, climate action and emerging technologies. The prestigious national honours conferred upon Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by both Sweden and Norway reflected international recognition of India’s growing influence and leadership.

Prime Minister Shri Modi was also awarded the Agricola Medal by the FAO, acknowledging India’s achievements in food security, agricultural innovation and sustainable development. From promoting millets globally to operating the world’s largest food support programme, India has emerged as a model for inclusive growth.

Beyond bilateral agreements and diplomatic engagements, the visits demonstrated a larger reality: under Prime Minister Shri Modi’s visionary and dynamic leadership, India is no longer merely adapting to global changes but actively shaping them. The visit reinforced India’s image as a trusted partner, a major economic force and a confident voice on the global stage, advancing the vision of a strong, self-reliant and ‘Viksit Bharat’.
