Marking a historic turning point in the political landscape of Keralam, Hon’ble BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin released the party’s manifesto for the 2026 Kerala Assembly Elections today at the Sri Mulam Club, Thiruvanthapuram. Titled “Viksit Keralam” (Developed Kerala), the document presents a visionary 10-year roadmap to dismantle decades of “political match-fixing” and propel the state into a new era of industrial excellence and social security. Shri Nabin said that our manifesto is a roadmap for Viksit Keralam and it is like a “sacred pledge” to the people of Keralam who have been stifled by the alternating regimes of the LDF and UDF. He said that BJP’s vision centers on transforming Keralam into a global economic powerhouse through specialized regional hubs and unprecedented welfare schemes. During the event BJP State President Shri Rajiv Chandrasekhar, Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) President Shri Tushar Vellapally, Shri VV Rajesh, the Mayor, along with other dignitaries. Senior leaders from alliance partners, eminent personalities of the city, and members of the media were present.
Shri Nabin emphasized that the BJP’s rise in the state, evidenced by the party holding the mayor’s post in Thiruvananthapuram, proves that the “Lotus” is ready to bloom across the entire state on May 4th. He said, Today, the moment we are going to give you the manifesto, at the same time, we should know that despite the immense natural and human potential of Keralam has witnessed negligible industrial growth during LDF-UDF’s 17 years of misrule, resulting in economic stagnation and fiscal misgovernance.
Launching scathing attacks on the LDF and the UDF, Hon’ble BJP National President said, I always say that LDF and UDF are playing a match-fixing game with the people of Keralam. For 17 years of their rule, the people have paid a heavy price for it. They have fixed the game to switch power amongst each other and help their families only, and it has cost Keralam its development. The UDF and LDF have never been interested in the progress of the people of Keralam. Keralam’s ranking at 15th on the financial health index was presented as evidence of fiscal mismanagement, reckless borrowing, and a failure to generate sustainable economic growth. Despite the well-known hospitality and strengths of the people of Keralam across India, poor governance is linked to weak performance in financial and developmental indicators. It’s no secret that whether it’s the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu or other states, the Communists and the Congress have been in the same team. Even in the UPA government they were alliance partners, but they never thought of Keralam. We will bring the concept of Citizen First into reality. All 3.6 crore people of Keralam will have equal rights, equal justice and equal right to grow.
Shri Nabin asserted that the UDF and LDF have never been genuinely committed to the progress of the people of Keralam, suggesting that meaningful development would empower citizens to demand their rightful opportunities, something these parties have been unwilling to provide. Across sectors, including the crucial hospitality and tourism industry, both LDF and UDF governments were described as having failed to work effectively or realize the full potential of Keralam’s people. This underperformance was portrayed as part of a broader pattern of governance shortcomings. Such governance enabled the continuation of appeasement-based politics, which, according to the statement, came at the cost of hurting the sentiments of people from other faiths and communities.
Hon’ble BJP National President said that under the leadership of the party’s state president Shri Rajiv Chandrasekhar, detailed comparisons would be presented to highlight how the people of Keralam faced challenges during the tenure of the UPA, and how governance under the NDA has focused on development across sectors such as railways, roads, transport, and infrastructure. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the people of Keralam deserve access to all modern facilities, which have been hindered due to the misgovernance of LDF and UDF governments. With the BJP’s vote share in Keralam rising from around 2% to nearly 20%, indicating growing public trust and the emergence of a credible and decisive alternative. Guided by the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” our manifesto is a roadmap aligned with the aspirations of the people, offering a decisive break from the governance model of the LDF and UDF.
Shri Nabin outlined that the manifesto is guided by the vision of “Viksit Keralam, Surakshit Keralam, and Vishwasam Sampannam Keralam,” forming the foundation of a governance model focused on growth, security, and public trust in Kerala. The proposed model emphasizes a corruption-free administration driven by technology and AI-enabled systems to ensure transparency, efficiency, accountability, and real-time service delivery. A “citizen-first” approach aims to guarantee equal rights, equal justice, and equal opportunities for all 3.6 crore citizens of Kerala, with a strong focus on social welfare. Key welfare measures include strengthened food security and additional support for healthcare expenses. Monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 is proposed for women from poor households. Additionally, two free LPG cylinders per year, one during Onam and one during Christmas are proposed for economically weaker families. The income limit for the Economically Weaker Sections is proposed to be increased to ₹8 lakh to support broader inclusion and upliftment. Furthermore, 20,000 liters of water per month is proposed to be provided free of cost to every household. A strengthened welfare pension of ₹3,000 per month is also proposed for women heads of poor households, widows, and senior citizens, ensuring financial security and dignity for vulnerable sections of society.
Hon’ble BJP National President said, as part of the manifesto commitments, the coverage of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY would be expanded to include every Malayali, ensuring a strong safety net during medical emergencies. An employment-linked incentive scheme has been proposed in our manifesto, under which enterprises would receive a soft loan of ₹1 lakh for every job created for residents of Kerala, aimed at boosting job creation and economic activity across the state. On cultural and religious matters, the emphasis remained on “Nation first,” with recognition of Keralam’s rich cultural heritage as a key driver of growth. Hon’ble National President attacked Rahul Gandhi for his derogatory remarks regarding Sabarimala Temple. He also raised concerns about the silence over alleged remarks by leaders associated with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, suggesting inconsistency in addressing issues related to religious sentiments. The developments surrounding Sabarimala are a part of a broader pattern linked to governance of appeasement by both LDF and UDF, with concerns that temple administration and matters of faith have not received adequate respect and protection. Devotees across Keralam are being portrayed as their traditions have been overlooked, while both fronts were accused of prioritizing political arrangements over public interest and cultural respect.
Shri Nabin assured that a special commission would be constituted to examine temple audit reports of the last 30 years, inspect temple assets, and take strict action in all cases of misuse of power across Kerala. A time-bound CBI inquiry will be held into the Sabarimala gold theft case to ensure a thorough investigation and strict punishment for those found guilty. A complete revamp of the Devaswom Boards is proposed to enhance transparency, accountability, and greater participation of devotees in temple management. On infrastructure and development, the vision aligned with the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and the central government includes establishing a high-speed railway network connecting Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur, completing all phases of the Kochi Metro, and introducing metro services in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. Healthcare and education initiatives include establishing Kerala’s first AIIMS to meet the long-standing demand for advanced medical care, along with the introduction of optional English-medium schools. Urban development measures include implementing a scientific waste management system under the vision of a cleaner Keralam, constructing stronger and better road infrastructure across the state, especially in high-traffic areas, and improving connectivity. Additionally, a 125-foot statue of Thunchaththu Ezhuthachan, a pioneer of the Malayalam language, will be made to honor the cultural heritage of Keralam.
Hon’ble BJP National President said that under the proposed governance model, a comprehensive Keralam River Rejuvenation Programme would be undertaken to restore water systems and ecological balance across Keralam. A Climate Biodiversity Centre would be established in the Western Ghats under an Elephant Protection Mission, along with the setting up of three dedicated elephant hospitals to strengthen wildlife conservation. Support for cultural and educational institutions includes special assistance for the upgradation of Kerala Kalamandalam and the establishment of a Police University in the state. In agriculture, policies include implementing decisions related to farm support, ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops requiring assistance, and enabling plantation lands to adopt multi-crop agriculture through amendments in relevant land and forestry laws. On water and environmental security, a balanced approach will be taken regarding the Mullaperiyar Dam to ensure safety for Keralam while safeguarding water availability for Tamil Nadu, in coordination with the Government of India and Tamil Nadu. In the industrial sector, a special scheme will be initiated proposed to boost investment and industrial growth. Vizhinjam International Seaport would be developed into a major industrial hub with a ship repair and marine engineering cluster, supported by an elevated double rail line from Neyyattinkara yard to Vizhinjam port and a dedicated industrial corridor around the port.
Shri Nabin stated that cities across Keralam would be developed as unique economic engines through a tailored economic vision aligned with sector-specific strengths. Thiruvananthapuram is envisioned as an IT and innovation capital, Kochi as India’s shipbuilding hub, Kozhikode as a healthcare and medical innovation center, Thrissur as a cultural and tourism capital, and Kollam as an internationally competitive blue economy cluster focused on marine exports and coastal defense innovation. These sector-focused developments aim to maximize employment generation and regional economic growth. I appeal to the people of Keralam to read and understand our manifesto, which has been prepared with a citizen-first approach. He said, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the NDA government would be formed and a “double engine” government would work toward achieving the vision of “Viksit Keralam.”
Hon’ble National President contrasted the governance models of the UDF and LDF with the “Modi Guarantee,” which he defined by its emphasis on trust, development, and tangible delivery. He presented the manifesto not merely as a document, but as a firm commitment and a roadmap for Keralam’s development; he assured the public that, with their support, every promise would be fulfilled to bring about transformative change for the state.
