100 DAYS of NDA Government 3.0
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the center on 17 September 2024 has completed 100 days of its third successive term. The government has made a lot of decisions, launched many welfare initiatives and projects in this short time of 100 days for the welfare of the poor, security, and pride of the country. Brief highlights of those works are given below:
Projects worth around Rs. 15 lakh crore launched within the first 100 days
–The primary focus on roads, railways, ports, and airways.
–Approved the Wadhavan Mega Port in Maharashtra at a cost of Rs. 76,200 crore, which will be among the top 10 ports in the world.
–Under the Prime Minister’s Rural Roads Scheme-4 (PMGSY-IV):
–Approval of the construction/upgradation of 62,500 kilometers of roads and bridges to connect 25,000 unconnected villages, with central assistance of Rs. 49,000 crore.
–Approval of strengthening India’s road network with an investment of Rs. 50,600 crore.
–Approval of 8 National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects spanning 936 kilometers.
Infrastructure Development
–Foundation stone laid for the Shinkhun-La Tunnel, to connect Ladakh with Himachal Pradesh.
–Approved 8 new railway line projects for faster and convenient travel by train generating 4.42 crore man-days of employment.
–Approval of the development of the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi.
–Approved new civil enclaves at Bagdogra in West Bengal and Bihta in Bihar.
–New airstrips to be built at Agatti and Minicoy.
–Approval of the expansion of Phase-3 of the Bangalore Metro, Pune Metro, and the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project.
Kisan Mitra Modi
–The 17th installment of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi released.
–Rs. 20,000 crore has been distributed to 9.3 crore farmers
–So far, Rs. 3 lakh crore distributed to a total of 12 crore 33 lakh farmers
MSP (Minimum Support Price) for Kharif crops for 2024-25 increased
–Benefitted farmers by approximately Rs. 2 lakh crore (Benefitted 12 crore farmers).
–Approved Polavaram Irrigation Project in Andhra Pradesh with an allocation of Rs. 12,100 crore.
–Approved seven major schemes with a total outlay of Rs. 14,200 crore, including:
Digital Agriculture Mission, to enhance efficiency and productivity in the agricultural sector.
–Completion of the draft policy of the new National Cooperative Policy, prepared by a national- level committee.
–The draft policy has also been prepared and is now being finalized.
–MoU between the National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) and the Uttarakhand Organic Commodity Board
–NCOL will purchase organic produce from Uttarakhand’s farmers at rates for farmers.
–Appropriate share of the profits will be directly deposited into the farmers’ accounts.
–The conversion of cooperative sugar mills’ ethanol production units into multi-feed facilities will enable ethanol production from maize as well.
–Decision to remove the Minimum Export Price (MEP) on Onions and Basmati Rice and to reduce the export duty on onions from 40% to 20%.
–Decision to increase the duty on crude palm, soybean, and sunflower oils from 12.5% to 32.5%, while also increasing the duty on their refined oils from 13.75% to 35.75%
–Expansion of the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund Scheme to strengthen agricultural infrastructure.
–Initiation of several agricultural schemes and development projects worth Rs. 3,300 crore in Jammu & Kashmir.
–During his first visit to Varanasi, Modi Ji honored 30,000 Krishi Sakhis from self- help groups for their role in agriculture.
–Approval of a Rs. 2,000 crore “Mission Mausam” to create a weather and climate resilient India.
–Launch of a new fund named ‘Agrisure’, aimed at revolutionizing the agricultural sector and supporting startups and rural enterprises.
Big Relief to Middle Class
–Tax Relief: No tax on income up to Rs. 7 lakh.
–Salaried individuals can save up to Rs. 17,500 in taxes.
–The standard deduction increased to Rs. 75,000 and The exemption limit for family pension raised to Rs. 25,000.
–A comprehensive review of income tax rules to be conducted within six months to make them concise, clear, and easy to understand.
–Government’s Gift for Government Employees: The Unified Pension Scheme has been implemented.
–Employees with 25 years of service will receive 50% of their average basic salary as a pension.
One Rank, One Pension (OROP)
–The third iteration of the One Rank, One Pension scheme will be implemented for security forces and their families.
–Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 3 crore houses approved.

–1 crore houses under the urban scheme.
–2 crore houses approved for construction in rural areas.
–(Total till date: 4 crore 27 lakh houses in both urban and rural areas).
-Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana: Solar energy systems installed in over 2.5 lakh homes between June and August 2024
–An environmentally friendly public transport system will be developed through PM E-Bus service.
–Approval given for the purchase of e-buses with assistance of Rs. 3,400 crore.
Ease of Doing Business
–To provide financial relief to Start-Ups and promote innovation: The 31% Angel Tax, which had been burdening startups since 2012, abolished.
–The corporate tax for foreign companies has been reduced from 40% to 35%. To ensure India is globally more competitive and attractive for investment.
-To make India a leader in the Global Space Economy: A Rs. 1000 crore venture capital fund will be set up for space sector startups.
–The GENESIS Program: Approval has been given for the Gen-Next Support for Innovation Startups (GENESIS) program to support Start-Ups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
–Under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program, the announcement was made to create 12 industrial nodes that will provide facilities for investors and ensure the ease of doing business.
–The MUDRA loan limit has been increased from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, benefiting traders who have successfully repaid their previous loans.
–A Credit Guarantee Scheme has been launched for MSMEs, allowing small traders to obtain loans without collateral. This will make it easier for them to purchase machinery and other goods.
–E-commerce export hubs will be developed in PPP mode for MSMEs and traditional artisans, providing export services and offering easy access to the global market.
Empowered Youth
–A Rs. 2 lakh crore PM package has been announced to promote employment and skill development among the youth. The goal is to benefit 41 million youth over the next 5 years.
–1 crore youth will receive internships at top companies, along with allowances and one-time assistance.
–The target is to skill 20 lakh youth, with improvements to 1,000 industrial training institutes.
–The central government has announced over 15,000 new appointments.

–For first-time employees covered under EPFO, an incentive amount of up to Rs. 15,000 will be provided in three installments.
–Employees earning up to Rs. 1 lakh will benefit from the government’s contribution to EPFO.
–Employers will receive a reimbursement of Rs. 3,000 per month for 2 years for every new employee with an income up to Rs. 1 lakh.
–The integration of the e-Shram portal and the development of 12 industrial nodes will promote new industries and create employment.
–Increasing capital expenditure to Rs. 11.11 lakh crore will lead to job creation.
–Financial and tax incentives will be provided for startups and MSMEs.
–The Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) scheme has been launched.
Women Empowerment
–Under DAY-NRLM, more than 90 lakh Self-help Groups have been formed by organizing more than 10 crore women to promote financial inclusion, digital literacy, sustainable livelihoods and social development measures.
-Lakhpati Didi Scheme: PM Modi has awarded certificates to 11 lakh new Lakhpati Didis.
–More than 1 crore Lakhpati Didis earn more than Rs. 1 lakh per year.
–Paryatan Didis and Paryatan Mitras have connected SHGs and youth with tourism.
–A Rs. 2,500 crore Community Investment Fund has been released, benefiting 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh SHGs.
–Rs. 5,000 crore bank loans has been released, benefiting 25.8 lakh members of 2,35,400 SHGs.
MUDRA loan has been increased from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh.
Empowerment of OBCs, Dalits, Minorities and Tribes
-Prime Minister’s Developed Tribal Village Campaign: Development of 63,000 tribal villages will be carried out, improving the socio-economic status of 5 crore tribals.
-Expansion of NAMASTE Scheme: The scheme has been extended to include waste pickers along with sanitation workers, promoting their social and economic empowerment.
-Unique Disability Identification Card: 3 lakh identification cards have been issued for persons with disabilities from Scheduled Tribes, including 1.17 lakh cards for individuals aged 60 years and above.
Empowerment of OBCs, Dalits, Minorities and Tribes
–Expansion of PM SURAJ: Better access to subsidized loans for livelihood activities will be ensured for Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, and sanitation workers.
–Eklavya Model Residential Schools: Enrollment of over 1.23 lakh students has been achieved in 405 schools.
–New Schools and Smart Classrooms: 40 new schools have been established, and smart classrooms have been created in 110 schools for tribal students.
–WAQF (Amendment) Bill, 2024: Aimed at reducing conflicts and disputes, a digital platform for the online registration and monitoring of WAQF properties will be developed.
Accessible Healthcare Services
–Expansion of Ayushman Bharat Scheme: Free insurance of up to Rs. 5 lakh will be provided to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above, benefiting 4.5 crore families and 6 crore elderly citizens.
–75,000 new medical seats have been added, which will help make the healthcare system more effective and reduce dependence on foreign medical education.
The U-WIN portal has been launched to digitize regular vaccinations.
–The National Medical Commission is preparing a National Medical Register to create a centralized repository of doctors in the country.
–A special campaign has been launched to raise awareness about sickle cell disease among women, adolescents, and tribal communities.
–To reduce the financial burden on people suffering from cancer, a customs duty exemption has been granted for 3 cancer medications.
-PM E-DRIVE Scheme: Electric ambulances will be provided with an expenditure of Rs. 10,900 crore.
-Digital Healthcare: The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) now includes a “Scan and Share” feature, facilitating 4 crore outpatient registrations.
Science and Technology
–On August 23, the first National Space Day was celebrated (in honour of the success of Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan).
–A Rs. 1000 crore venture capital fund scheme has been established for space startups.
–On August 16, the successful launch of the EOS-08 satellite on SSLV-D3 took place.
SSLV is capable of launching mini, micro, or nano satellites into a 500-kilometer orbit.
–A National Research Fund of Rs. 50,000 crore and the ‘Vigyan Dhara’ scheme with Rs. 10,500 crore have been established.
–Semiconductors: A semiconductor unit will be set up in Sanand, Gujarat. With an investment of Rs. 3,300 crore, it will have a production capacity of 6 million chips per day.
–India has become the second-largest mobile producer, with the establishment of indigenous semiconductor facilities.
–For disaster management, a national database and the Bhuvan Panchayat portal for rural land records have been created.
Governance and Law & Order
-On July 1, 2024, three new laws were introduced to replace colonial-era criminal laws: The Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
–Focus has been placed on organized crime and economic offenses, with an emphasis on promoting forensics and strengthening law and order through digitalization.
The capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Port Blair, has been renamed Shri Vijaya Puram.
–The “National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme (N.F.I.E.S.)” has been approved for an effective criminal justice system, with a total financial expenditure of Rs. 2254 crore for the financial years 2024-25 to 2028-29.
–To address the issue of paper leaks, the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 has been introduced.
-CPGRAMS guidelines have been issued for addressing public grievances.
Purvoday Scheme: A plan for the comprehensive development of Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh.
–Urban Flood Management and Glacial Lake Outburst Flood Risk Mitigation Projects: Rs. 6,350 crore allocated for these projects.
–Five new districts have been created in Ladakh (Zanskar, Dras, Sham, Nubra, and Changthang), making a total of 7 districts (including Leh and Kargil).
–June 25 is observed as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Divas.’
Energy Security
-Approval for Hydro Electric Projects in the Northeast: Joint venture between state entities and central public sector enterprises with an investment of Rs. 4,100 crore.
-Under the VGF (Viability Gap Funding) Scheme: Approval of hydroelectric projects worth over Rs. 12,400 crore.
-Offshore Wind Energy Projects: Rs. 7,450 crore worth of projects have been approved.
-National Green Hydrogen Mission: The second tranche has been provided for electrolyzer manufacturing, increasing domestic electrolyzer manufacturing capacity to 1.5 gigawatts per year.
-Green Credit Programme: Introduction of a Green Credit Programme for PSUs for tree planting and environmental restoration.
-Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India Phase-III (FAME-III) Scheme in the same direction.
-JI-VAN Yojana: The Prime Minister’s JI-VAN Yojana to promote advanced biofuels.
Foreign Policy
–President Smt. Droupadi Murmu was honored with Fiji’s highest civilian award, the “Order of Fiji,” and Timor-Leste’s.
–PM Modi’s key international engagements include significant visits to Russia and Ukraine during the conflict, participation in the G-7 Summit in Italy, and being awarded the ‘Order of St. Andrew the Apostle’ during his visit to Russia.
PM Modi’s visits to Singapore and Brunei Darussalam marked the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister.
–After 41 years, an Indian Prime Minister visited Austria, and after 45 years, visited Poland.
–India hosted the third ‘Voice of the Global South’ Summit with over 120 countries participating.
–For the first time, India hosted the UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting.
Disaster Management
–The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024 has been introduced in the Lok Sabha to amend the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
–Rs. 12,554 crore has been approved for states for Urban Flood Management, firefighting services, Glacial Lake Outburst, Flood Mitigation, and other disaster mitigation efforts
–Under the ‘National Disaster Mitigation Fund,’ ‘National Disaster Response Fund,’ ‘State Disaster Mitigation Fund,’ and ‘State Disaster Response Fund’.
–The Emergency Response Support System (ERSS 2.0) has been implemented in states/union territories.
–An expert team has been formed to address the floods in Andhra Pradesh.
Security
–On September 4, after 35 years of conflict, a peace agreement was made with NLFT and ATTF, under which 328 armed cadres renounced violence and joined the mainstream of society.
–The launch of the MANAS helpline.
–A ‘Samanvay’ platform has been introduced for all stakeholders dealing with cybercrime.
–In the next 5 years, 5,000 cyber commandos will be trained.
–The Cyberdost mobile app has been launched for reporting cybercrimes.
In collaboration with banks and financial intermediaries, an advanced ‘Cyber Fraud Mitigation
–Center’ (CFMC) has been established at I4C.
–A suspect registry has been created, including mobile numbers, URLs/websites, IMEI numbers, and other identifiers.
