BJP National President meets with the PM of Singapore in New Delhi

As part of the ‘Know BJP’ initiative, BJP National President and Union Minister Shri J.P. Nadda met with the Prime Minister of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Lawrence Wong, in New Delhi on 03 September 2025.

Welcoming Prime Minister Wong, Shri Nadda noted the special significance of the visit as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of India–Singapore diplomatic relations.

Shri Nadda highlighted the Bharatiya Janata Party’s wide organizational outreach under the Know BJP initiative and proposed enhanced engagement with Singapore’s People’s Action Party.

Mr. Wong referred to the visit of a delegation of his party to India on the invitation of the BJP and how this visit gave valuable insights into the functioning of the BJP. Both leaders agreed to continue the exchange of party delegations in the future, too.
Shri Nadda also underlined the importance of the 2024 MoU on healthcare collaboration and welcomed Temasek’s investments in India’s healthcare sector, which reflect global confidence in India’s healthcare ecosystem. Both leaders emphasized the importance of preventive health care and the role of technology in it. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, reinforcing the strength of the India-Singapore Strategic Partnership.

Shri Nadda was accompanied by Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, In-charge of the BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department.

Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Wong is on a State Visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This is his first official visit to India since assuming office as Prime Minister of Singapore.
