As the people shower their blessings on BJP in Delhi, the guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has become the guarantee of all the guarantees. While the politics of lies, deceit and treachery have been defeated, the politics of performance, good governance and credible leadership have emerged victorious with flying colours. The AAP government led by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi had become a symbol of corruption, the looting of public money, betrayal of public trust, misrule and the politics of deception, becoming an AAP-da (disaster) for the NCR, causing untold miseries for the people and forcing them to suffer even for the basic amenities during its decade-long rule. As an epitome of power-centric, opportunist and unprincipled politics, Arvind Kejriwal made tall claims and finally got completely exposed, making the people punish him with a crushing defeat. As the AAP saw a decline of around 10% of votes while getting decimated with only 22 seats, the BJP not only got 48 seats out of 70 but also saw an increase of more than 9% of votes along with its allies. The people of Delhi who had blessed the BJP with all seven seats consecutively for the last three Lok Sabha elections have this time reposed their complete faith in assembly elections too, responding to the appeal of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. As the BJP prepares to form a government in Delhi to fulfil its commitment, a new dawn of hope and trust has made the ambience positive and vibrant across the nation.
The Union Budget for FY 2025-26 is a historic budget in many ways and is set to revolutionise the Indian economy. While setting the pace for Viksit Bharat with a range of reforms and emphasis on inclusivity, this budget reinvigorates the Modi government’s commitment to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas’ through inclusive development across all sections. The Union Budget is powered by four key engines: agriculture for rural prosperity, MSMEs for entrepreneurship and job creation, investment for infrastructure and innovation, and exports for global competitiveness and economic growth. The budget focuses on six key domains, namely, taxation, power sector, urban development, financial sector, regulatory reforms and mining.
Apart from a number of relief measures, through the present budget, the Modi government has continued on its path of reducing the tax burden on the middle class by raising the “nil” tax slab to an income of Rs. 12 lakh from the existing Rs. 7 lakh, thus allowing persons with Rs. 1 lakh income per month to have zero tax liability. This budget has a holistic six-pronged goal in its sight, namely, accelerating growth, securing inclusive development, enhancing spending power of India’s middle class, invigorating private sector investments and uplifting household sentiments. In addition to the core cohorts of GYAN, the Modi government has emphasised a renewed commitment to empowering the middle class while boosting its capability and unlocking its potential in order to secure its goal of Viksit Bharat@2047.
It is to be noted that despite having inherited a broken economy characterised by high non-performing assets and the corporate sector in despair, the Modi government has been successful in positive fiscal consolidation through a targeted three-fold policy of encouraging public investments, gradually increasing the capital expenditure outlay, and targeted public service delivery. It is by virtue of these proactive measures that, despite the global economy facing elevated inflation and slowdown in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, India has emerged as a shining exception. As the fastest-growing major economy in the world today, under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, the nation congratulates Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting such a futuristic budget in accordance with the aspirations of every section of society while paving the path for Viksit Bharat.
